On a cold and grey Edinburgh morn
Mona and Sharif’s love was sworn
High on a craggy outcrop of rocks
St Anthony’s Chapel Ruin was a bit unorthodox
But friends and family were there to see
That Mona truly loved Sharif and his knee
The Bride resplendent in white with a hat to match
Sharif in a kilt, many an eye to catch.
The roof came off, the rain abated
Drive through the streets, at the traffic lights we waited
Elliot the Photographer was there to establish
That the happy couple would have memories to cherish

Today was the wedding of Eilidh and Gary Burrows, the weather could have been conducive, but there were smiles all round. A serious attack of the confetti meant that as I drove home I had a whirlwind of petals and shards of paper billowing out of the Beauford leaving a trail behind me. There is something kinda magic when that happens. Mr and Mrs Burrows I wish you every happiness for the future.

Last Night was the first bottle top sort of the year, 10 stalwart supporters of the cause sorted out 268.5 kgs of bottle tops. I did a quick tally up over the years since JUly 2013 we have collected and sorted 16.430 tonne of bottle tops. That is about 248.9 kgs per month. Well done to every one who helped.

To day I be mostly doing my last wedding, I know I' said that before. I got a phone call from New York and I cannot say no.
Weatherwise it wasnt the best, but the roof came off and no rain fell. A serious tails event with not a top hat in sight, the only kilt was that worn was by the piper.

On Saturday past I be mostly driving Megan and Josh Newman on their wedding day. Ednam House Hotel was the venue, we arrived at the back door where Alister of Hector Innes Photography was waiting to capture every aspect of the wedding. After the service a short trip to the Abbey for more close up and meaningful photos. This was my last wedding as I am hanging up my driving gloves, it's time to retire.

Today I be mostly driving for the wedding of Michelle and Garry Lowrie, The Beauford was the transport for the Bridesmaids, a horse and carriage had been brought up from the Midlands to transport the Bride to the Church and the newly weds from the church. Braxholme Castle was the venue of choice where Carol and Brian Desport, welcomed everybody to their recently refurbished humble abode. Mr & Mrs Lowrie thank you for including me in your big day.

Tonite I be mostly helping Stephen Thompson to surprise his wife. One year ago he surprised his bride by having the Beauford and me drive them to a local restaurant. Today on their first wedding anniversary the Beauford and me took them to another local restaurant. It's good to part of a surprise. Mr & Mrs T all the very best for the future, I do like the repeat offenders/clients

Yesterday's Wedding started in nice warm dry weather, but sadly as the day progressed the sky turned cloudy and grey.
On the way to the gig I followed the No 60 bus into Galashiels, on the bus were a couple of youngsters taking photos of the Beauford so I took their photo of them on a bus. Alas for the happy couple they only got the opperchancity of a few photos in the Beauford before the rain set in. Several inches of rain fell in an few hours.

19th May 2018, another glorious sunny spring wedding. As I drove to Kelso with the heady perfume from the R**e Seed flowers, it felt good to be driving to go and do a wedding. Claire and Euan were tying the knot, on the same day as another couple in Windsor, who had much much more publicity. Everything went smoothly, the roof came off after the service, and photos in the Abbey. The music was a very strange affair, Claire's dad had compiled the selection, which included a couple of German songs, one about a Polar Bear, and the other very dubious references to 20 cms. In all my years in the Bridal Car business I've never known a k**b gag get into the music selection. It takes all sorts.

Today the whole country be mostly not doing much. I decided to walk over to my garage just to get the snow chains for Anne's car and the good old Canadian snow shovel, which is so much better than the indigenous devices sold at local supermarkets.
The snow drift down the drive way was more than knee deep and this is the garage door, inside and out. Stay warm folks.

Today I be mostly attending MacDonald Cardrona Hotel Wedding Fair. The weather was most kind, the roof came off early in the day so I just had to driver home topless. Possibly not the best decision but still was good fun but well cold.

Mr. and Mrs. Grant tied the knot today
In a very surreal way
The sky was cloudy and grey
On this crisp November day
The day that Kevin to Catherine did say
Oh go on then and I will forever more
Love you, cherish and adore
You for the rest of my life,
Together we will be man and wife.

A slight wardrobe malfunction as Catherine got into the Beauford, her veil decided to adjust itself. Many layers of tulle and petticoat flooded the back seat of the Beauford; Dad very sensibly just shoved a dose of it to one side and sat beside his daughter. The conversation was lively on the way to the Church in Melrose. Once there the veil was re-attached and the service commenced.
The music was very eclectic ranging from Pachelbel’s Canon in D to The Prodigy - Out Of Space, Catherine sang along to “Every little thing she does is magic”
Photos at Scotts View with the Bridesmaids in attendance; the roof came off and a short drive down to The Dryburgh Abbey Hotel whilst Catherine tried to explain how surreal the day had been thus far.
The piper piped us in to the awaiting crowd outside the hotel. A round of applause as Mr. and Mrs. Grant made their way into the hotel.

Ann Marie will always remember
The Limo arrived to take her to say “I do”
Her mum and her bridesmaid came along too.
The scenic route was to be applied to the drive
To allow others in a Taxi, to arrive.
Kelso Town Hall the Registrar was waiting
A few words of wisdom from her, most accommodating.
The wedding service completed, the contract had been signed
Mr and Mrs Finer had been defined
Photos at the Abbey and War Memorial
The heady sent of flowers, most pictorial
And back to the Cross Keys Hotel
That’s where I said my farewell.
