Last night, just before our E.D.C Night commenced, we had an audition!

Michael Raw presented himself in front of the members and took to the stage! His performance was outstanding with great storytelling!

It was agreed unanimously, by all the members who attended, he would be accepted into the Middlesbrough Circle of Magicians! Michael was then welcomed back into the room to a round of applause from the members as he joined us for his first meeting!

We can already foresee that Mike will be a greatly valued member of our society.

Just finished March’s copy of the newsletter for The Middlesbrough Circle of Magicians, all ready to post out tomorrow morning!

As a small business having to replace a laptop can be a huge expense, so you can imagine my horror when I found that a can had popped all over my (not so) old one. Not only did it wreck my computer, I also had to re-write the news letter!

On Monday night I had the pleasure of performing at Marjorie’s 90th birthday! What a lovely little party it was, I enjoyed every second of it!

Luckily, it was only then on Tuesday that I fell very ill and have been out of action since! I’m doing my very best to rest and recover but with the magic of Blackpool Magic Convention still coursing through my veins, it’s been difficult to not at least do a little planning for the things that I’m going to be sharing with you guys in 2024, between naps of course!!

At last nights AGM a new president of the Middlesbrough Circle of Magicians was appointed. Congratulations goes to Neil Armstrong who will preside of the MCM during its 70th anniversary year. Also congratulations goes to Gary Bainbridge who was appointed as the new secretary.

The MCM’s Annual Presidents Dinner was held at Middlesbrough FC’s Riverside Stadium on Saturday.

A truly wonderful gathering of MCM members, family and friends. Amazing food and brilliant entertainment from Martin Daniels.

A very big thank you to everyone who came along and to those that helped make it such a wonderful evening. Special thanks goes to the staff at the Riverside Stadium, Steven Ashcroft, Eric Leonard, Nimmo Clarke, Neil Armstrong, Martin Youngman and Gary Bainbridge.

The bi-annual Will Fleet Trophy was hotly contested last night by 6 Circle members at Worsall Village Hall. Each entrant gave a great performance and entertained an enthusiastic audience. Whilst the voting was very tight the eventual winner was Tom Daws. Well done to all the contestants. Tom’s ‘Whimsical’ show is on at Saltburn Theatre on the 7th November. Well done Tom.
