Good lord this has took a good 4 months to get right, in terms of gaze, structure etc, with many re tweaks, shuffling, starting again and generally being overly obsessive. Digitally hand painted (is that even a thing?) in Procreate as I watch gogglebox or 24hrs in Police Custody its finally finished and I believe is a lovely tribute to one of my major influencers who very sadly passed on the 17th February 2020

Next Saturday I launch Funkbox in Newcastle as a regular get down - think funk flavours, supersoul edits, disco remix, Latin belters and jump up hip hop cuts for your dancin’ feet! It’s at Twobytwobrewing in Byker and it’s free - come along for a dance and get amongst it with friends!

We are back!!!!!!!
After a two year post lock down sabbatical we are back with fresh produce and a newfound energy on a lovely venue perfectly suited to a summer get down.
Expect heavy-funk edits, disco remix and infectious soul as well as Latin flavours from Cuba to Brazil.
Two by Two Taproom is a bar in a brewery making REALLY good beers, with a natural dance floor, lush folk and a sweet outside area to soak up some summer sun. There’s also a street food on site in case you get peckish.

Here's a nice little gig we've sorted out for the good attendees of Funkbox: The man like Richio Suzuki will be joining us as a very special guest on Saturday 25th March for a special vinyl only set.
Richio is one of London's finest vintage vinyl Dj's - a vetaran of 35 years who'll deliver a hand selected mix of party set of soul- funk- disco - rare groove, Jazz-funk & classic cool old skool hip hop and ska, playing all over the globe from Japan to Ibiza, Strasbourg to London on a regular basis currently killing it with his Hawaiian Bop events in the most excellent Bussey Building in Peckham.
This is a totally FREE event, but come down early (like around 8pm) as we're limited on dance floor space, first come first served folks!
