Built in 2006, the Resource Centre is situated in a quiet part of Middlesbrough with almost direct access to the A66 and A19. It is a well maintained single story gated building with gardens and a patio area to the rear, that could be used as part of your event in the summer months. The centre has on-site enclosed parking for 12 cars and plenty of off street parking nearby. The centre has 3 meetin

g rooms of various sizes suitable for meetings or training events from 2 to 16 people and a large kitchen area which can be hired as part of an event or separately. In addition there is also a large function hall which can accommodate 90 people. This hall has full sized sound proofed room dividers which can split the space into two smaller meeting rooms. The centre has wifi throughout and each meeting room is fully equipped with projectors and presentation aids. Laptops and other IT equipment are available to hire if required. Catering for larger events will be supplied by our sister centre, the Acklam Green Centre, and a buffet menu is available on request. The centre is fully DDA compliant and has designated parking spaces. For further information or to arrange a visit contact the Resource Centre on 01642 255 001 or email [email protected]

*** IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT***

Actes Trust would like to announce a change to our Resource Centre, which is situated at Meath Street, Middlesbrough.

From the 30th August 2024, the Resource Centre will be leased and run by the KFC Youth Foundation. As a result of this change, this page will unfortunately be closed down as of 30th August.

The Resource Centre was opened in December 2007 and has been a base for many Actes projects and service provision, a centre for community groups and organisations to access, as well as hosting many events and parties over the years.

The Actes board of trustees see this as a positive step to ensure the viability of the centre longer term while also maintaining support for community groups, but with the enhancement of what the KFC Youth Foundation will bring to Middlesbrough.

During August and September, we are working with the KFC Youth Foundation to ensure a smooth transition, supporting existing users and minimising any impact.

Actes Trust would like to thank everyone who has been part of the Resource Centre story so far and look forward to the next chapter.

Some of Actes’ existing provision will now be delivered from Actes’ Acklam Green Centre, based on Stainsby Road, Acklam, just across from the Actes Head Office on Acklam Road.

If you would like to stay informed on what is going on at our Acklam Green Centre, you can do so by following Acklam Green Centre

And if you would like to stay informed on the great work Actes are doing in the local community, you can do so by following Actes Environmental and Actes Employability

Thank you.

Did you Know❓

Actes' Resource Centre featured in ITV's hit true-story drama -
The Thief, His Wife and the Canoe?

Parts of the BAFTA-nominated show, which aired in April 2022 (and can currently be viewed on ITVX) were filmed in Hartlepool, Seaton Carew and Middlesbrough, and for one full day, our Resource Centre was taken over by a production team and converted into a 2002-style doctors surgery, to capture one of the most iconic scenes in the drama.

As the filming was top secret, it was a great surprise for many of our staff members, who watched the drama completely unaware that they were about to see their workplace on the big screen!

Middlesbrough Youth Mutual Partners celebrate after receiving £420,001 of National Lottery funding to support the sustainability of high-quality youth provision across the town.

The Lead Partners; Youth Focus: North East, The Junction Foundation, Actes and Linx Youth Project are celebrating after being awarded £420,001, over the next 3 years, of National Lottery funding to support their work implementing the Middlesbrough Youth Mutual strategy. This strategy has been produced by voluntary and community sector youth providers who want to ensure a strong and sustainable youth sector in Middlesborough.

The partners will use the money to increase the numbers and diversity of young people having their voices heard, listened to and acted upon; increase awareness of the local offer, maximising current and creating new opportunities; increase opportunities for people to volunteer, train and develop careers in youth work and increase the number of personal development opportunities for young people.

The Middlesbrough Youth Mutual (MYM) has been running since 2021 and was developed by the Lead Partners with support from the National Lottery funded North East Youth Alliance which was established to support the development and sustainability of the people and organisations working to improve the lives of young people across the region in 2020.

The MYM is fundamentally about people coming together to share knowledge, resource experience in order to deliver better services together. We want to encourage collaboration for the mutual benefit of organisations and communities we serve and to improve outcomes for young people.

People are at the heart of our work and positive relationships and honest communications are key to its success. The MYM strategic priorities have been identified by hearing from young people and the organisations that serve them.

This new funding from The National Lottery Community Fund, which distributes money raised by National Lottery players for good causes and is the largest community funder in the UK, will support and enable partners to take the strategy forward with young people, encourage their involvement in delivering the strategy; including recruiting and training a skilled workforce, and ensuring all providers are delivering sufficient quality in youth provision.

At the end of June we said a sad goodbye to our longest-standing tenants – The Tees Valley Asian Welfare Forum, who after being with us for over 15 years, are now moving to their own premises.

We would like to take this opportunity to say thank you for all you have contributed to the centre, and most importantly, for your friendship.

We wish you all the best in your new home!

PS: Nick is going to miss having his lunch provided every Tuesday and Thursday!

In 2022, as part of the Peer Action Collective – a national-level social action project involving 6,000 young people aimed at exploring themes that underpin youth violence, Actes worked alongside an external artist to produce a powerful art piece titled ‘Does My Race Bother You’.

The piece was designed to capture the experiences of local young people who have unfortunately encountered racism and to better educate people on the negative impact racist remarks and comments can have on young people today.

We are delighted that this important work is now proudly on display in the reception at our Resource Centre. I am sure you will agree, it looks brilliant.

Did you know our Acklam Green Centre sports pitches have had a makeover?

Surfacing Standards Limited carried out the work last Autumn and have done an absolutely incredible job in resurfacing the 3G pitches and improving the line markings.

We couldn't be happier with the result!

Big thank you to Surfacing Standards Limited

Thank you to everyone who attended our 'Wear It Don't Waste It' sustainability event on Saturday. We are pleased to say that around 80% of the pre-loved clothes and all of the pre-loved toys were picked up by local residents, and will no doubt be enjoyed and loved again!

Events like this are so important because they can bring communities together, promote sustainability and massively reduce waste.

So, well done to everyone who put the time and effort into making the event a success, and thank you to everyone who turned up on the day!
