We can’t wait to celebrate with the birthday children today! 🎂 🎈 😊

Here’s our 10 reasons why we think our parties are stress free and perfect for young children:

- You don’t need to do any prep on the build up to the party, we will have the entertainment covered for the whole duration of the party.

- Each Pop Up Play Village party is unique as the birthday child and their family can pick out the play areas that they would like. This is such a special thing to do and it builds up excitement for the party.

- Our village is flexible to suit the space which means we can run big or small parties in a large or a smaller space, in a venue or even in your house. The choice is yours to make!

- On the day of the party, there is no setting up required when you book a party with us. We do all the setting up of the entertainment so that you can enjoy getting ready for the party with your little one.

- On arrival at a Pop Up Play Village party, we find that the children settle quickly into enjoying the party. Sometimes parties can be daunting for little ones but we find that because our village is child led exploratory play, they get stuck in playing straight away.

- Our parties are brilliant for mixed ages which is great as there are often a variety of ages attending a party and it enables all children to have a great time together.

- We often get complimented by guests that our parties are calm and relaxed which tends to mean the children are happy and engrossed in their play. Our village is fun, engaging and can entertain children for hours as the children let their imaginations run wild.

- At our parties, it is not just about the children, we want the adults attending to have a great time too. Whilst the children are engrossed in their play, adults can enjoy the occasion and socialise with friends and family.

- At the end of a party, the little ones are usually tired and the last thing you want to do is to spend ages tidying up. Our village is mess free and we tidy and pack it all up.

- We also provide you with the invites for your guests, and a gift for the birthday child.

What’s not to love! Get in touch if you’re organising a party to see if we can help.

Take a look at our blog all about the importance of child led play written by our franchisor Becky:

Child led play is when children choose how they play, what they play with and the play can go in any direction that the child chooses. Before I launched Pop Up Play Village when I was an Early Years teacher, time for child led play was such an important part of the daily school day. It enabled the children to practise and use the skills that they had been learning at their own pace, in their own way and for a purpose. Child led play is such a powerful way to learn and grow as it puts children right in the driving seat encouraging children to learn independently as well as having support and guidance from others around them.

When Pop Up Play Village was designed back in 2016, it was designed to be completely child led. As soon as our little visitors arrive, they have the whole time to explore our role play village in any way that they choose. Our set up is purposefully open plan without any backdrops or barriers so that grown ups can see their children at all times no matter where they are in the room but also to enable children to explore the village as they wish. By being open plan, children can see all of the play areas available to explore and use their imaginations to make connections with one play area to another. For example, sometimes the construction site moves location because a new building site is taking place in a different part of the room, the bricks are transported to the new site and the building commences! Another example is when the supermarket food is taken over to the hospital to feed the poorly patients and help them to get better. By the end of a role play class, our village can look very different to how it was set up to start with and it just shows that the children have completely owned their play time and explored our village in a way that benefits and supports their development.

Through child led play, children can develop a sense of who they are in a safe and secure environment where they can express their thoughts and feelings. This brings a high level of learning as the learning is purposeful and relevant for the child.

Just this! Play is the absolutely best way for young children to learn. By learning through play, children are in the driving seat to their learning and it is purposeful and meaningful to them.

One of our core values is to inspire learning. Our franchisor Becky has written a blog all about how we do this here:

Pop Up Play Village has been created to excite children and give them the desire to learn in their own way and at their own pace. Using my knowledge as a teacher, this was how Pop Up Play Village was designed. When designing each play area, I looked at what resources were needed in order to maximise the learning opportunities for the children. Every resource in our village has a purpose and has been chosen to inspire and promote high quality learning through play.

I’ve found that the best way for children to learn is when they are in the driving seat. They can make their own decisions and make their own discoveries. Our village has been set up to promote this way of learning through open plan play areas and free flow play right from the very start of a session until the very end. As our village is open plan, children can make connections between one play area and another and move resources around the village as they wish. We often find that at the end of a play session, the village looks very different and that’s great as the children have owned their play and been inspired by the resources that they have had available to play with.

Our village is a very sociable place to play and this naturally inspires children’s learning. By observing others, playing alongside and with other children, children get ideas and learn from each other which in turn inspires and develops their learning further.

Our play areas are large and open plan which means adults can play in them too. We absolutely love seeing families all playing together and having fun! Children absolutely love to play with their special grown ups that bring them to our village. This naturally inspires their play and develops their learning so much.

I think it is so important that the environment is right for optimum high quality learning to take place. The environment needs to be a relaxing and stress free place to start with. By being open plan, we have created a wonderfully relaxed environment where grown ups can relax as they can see their children at all times and children can gain confidence to explore as they can also see their grown ups too. The environment also needs to wow children as they walk through the door. This then sparks their interest, their imaginations and ultimately inspires learning! We take great care in setting up our village for every session and one of the huge perks of running Pop Up Play Village sessions is when I get to see the look of excitement on the children’s faces when they walk in and see the village all ready for the play to begin. Truly amazing!

We're so excited to be taking part in Children's Activities Week this year from 13th-19th May!

In children's activities all over the country thousands of people come together to take part in fun activities to help raise awareness and fundraise to help disabled children. Children's Activities Week helps provide life-changing support for autistic and disabled children all over the UK through the charity, Caudwell Children.

For Children's Activities Week, we are contributing £10 for every 100 children that take part in role play visiting our village over the whole week! This includes the many private events that we will run during this week as well as our role play classes! With 30 franchises, we should raise a good amount of money as we count the children walking through our doors!
