The Ruskin Library and Research Centre at Lancaster University is an iconic building housing the important Whitehouse Collection of writings, drawings, diaries and prints relating to John Ruskin and his circle. When my client CBS Workspace had completed a painstaking 'historic building' refurb they naturally wanted it recording along with the new exterior lighting. At this time of year that meant waiting until midnight for the right conditions to show it at its best - worth waiting for I hope you agree!

When Neil and Beverley asked me to take the photographs of their lovngly refurbished guest house I was naturally delighted. Their high standards and attention to detail in every area from food quality and presentation to furniture, fabrics and decoration meant that everywhere was a visual treat. Here are just a few of the picitures.
What has made me smile the most is the way the soft boiled eggs are served - attention to detail combined with a great sense of humour!

This is a 5 star Boutique Bed and Breakfast in the heart of Windermere and I've enjoyed creating images here since it opened back in 2009. I went along last week to photograph some refurbished bedrooms and just had an email "It was really good catching up with you last week. The photos are fantastic, thank you very much" - nice start to the week!

My brief was to show the pristine interior of the new store and to give an idea of it's setting.The rainy Glasgow night didn't look too promising but the lights and reflections have given it a really nice feel.

What a diifference!

I was recommended to Kim Robinson, the new owner of The Royal Hotel, by Adrian Walsh of Printing Plus. They felt that the photographs she'd had taken didn't really capture the ambience of the bar or do justice to the newly refurbished bedrooms - just my cup of tea!
Kim is such a great character, full of great ideas and bursting with creativity. She was a delight to work with.

So pleased to have been asked to take photographs for the lovely Becky and husband Ash who have the Hare & Hounds at Levens - i haven't been here for ages and what a transformation! A wonderful restaurant from a converted barn, great food, the best in Cumbrian ales, four beautifully refurbished en suite letting rooms and a warm welcome. I'll be back!

Really enjoyed taking photographs of the ALRA North PG's production of Mother Courage at the Bolton Octagon Theatre. A wonderfully talented group of actors together with an award winning Director in Elizabeth Newman combined to produce a powerful and moving piece of theatre.

Had a great time yesterday at the Low Wood No Wood cardboard boat race in aid of The Calvert Trust (http://www.calvert-trust.org.uk/) and thought I'd share these pics of somebody skyboarding which I'd never seen before. It looks great - wouldn't mind a crack at it! What a beautiful backdrop - when the weather's good in the lakes it's unbeatable.

Brooke wasn't thrilled when I turned up but as soon as we got outside and started having fun she changed her mind and now parents and grandparents have some beautiful pictures on their walls which capture those memories forever. What a great Christmas present!

As official photographer at the E3 Business Awards at the Reebok Stadium I had a really busy evening and met some great people, including the beautiful Maleen Saeed the BBC Business journalist who was the presenter. Here are just a few of the hundreds of pictures taken. The event - labelled the largest multicultural gathering of businesses in the country - attracted over 700 businesses from the North West. Mubarak Chati the Managing Director of 1 Events Media Ltd. who organised the event was kind enough to write "Thank you for your support and for working on organising so many photos in a such a short space of time. A great evening and a fantastic job well delivered by you. We were delighted with the success of the evening and this could not have been achieved without your assistance. Your attention to detail and ready to help attitude really contributed hugely to the success of the event."

Just had the letter telling us that my wife Julie has won a place at ALRA - Academy of Live and Recorded Arts (voted best drama school of 2013) on the much sought after (ten applicants for every place) postgraduate course for an MA in acting. So exciting. Couldn't be prouder. Well done Julie!
