🌙 CEREMONY LOCATION ✨

We all know about traditional wedding ceremony locations:
⛪️ church
🏫 Registry Office
📋Other specific, licensed locations

BUT what if you’re not religious or want something slightly more decorative and perhaps larger than a registry office?

Well! If you choose a celebrant (ME obviously 😂) you can have your ceremony ANYWHERE! Hopefully personal to you. Favourite picnic spot, scenic beach, where you got engaged, or another memorable place for you and your gorgeous fiancé.

You can even choose another space within your chosen venue other than those outlined. As long as you speak to the owner of the space, you are able to set up your aisle where you choose.

So, get creative!

🌙 GEORGIE & ROB ✨

HUGE Congratulations to these fantastic newlyweds on their wedding last weekend!

The ceremony was brilliant 🤩 (not just my part 😉😂) all friends and family were there to watch them tie the knot with not a dry eye in the house.

Tears and laughter were seen as (to use Georgie’s words) ‘the ceremony was the perfect combination of fun and weddingy stuff’ 🥰

It was SO much fun working with you both. All through the process, every time we spoke we had a great time, so thank you!

🌙 Couples Feedback ✨

Writing the script for a couples wedding ceremony is one of my favourite parts of being a celebrant! ✍️📄

By getting to know them as individuals and an amazing couple, allows me to tell their bespoke, personal story as best I can.

So …it’s always a tense moment when I finally click ‘send’ and wait to hear their thoughts. Luckily, it’s usually positive.

🌙 Cultural Wedding Traditions ✨

As a celebrant I LOVE discovering new wedding traditions from an array of cultures!

The couple I’m marrying next weekend have introduced me to the awesome Irish tradition of bell ringing during the ceremony. It is said to ward off evil spirits and bring harmony and prosperity to the newlyweds.

🌙 Vows and Readings ✨

Vow can often a cause of anxiety for some couples. After all it’s a lot of pressure to pour your heart out and express your love for your new spouse right?

But, another great thing about a celebrant wedding is that you don’t have to have traditional vows!

Why not quote the words of characters from a film or tv show, sing lyrics or poems you’ve read!

🌙 CEREMONY SEND OFFS! ✨

It’s normal for most brides to be swept up in prep for before the days before the wedding, then every minute leading up to the ceremony, not to mention that magical moment you walk down the aisle towards your loved one, BUT don’t forget about the recession!

There are soooo many amazing, fun and personal alternatives to confetti to celebrate tying the knot!

For example…

1. Sky Lanterns! 🏮
These are so elegant, graceful, and ideal for destination weddings! You’d need to have your ceremony a little later in the afternoon so it’ll be dark ready for your send off.

2. ⁠Beach Balls ☀️🏖️
Beach weddings bring sun, sea and relaxation to your beautiful day. So why not round your ceremony off with your guests bouncing beach balls across the aisle- you could join in the fun too!

3. Paper Aeroplanes ✈️
If you’re looking for a more budget way to exit, these are a unique DIY option!

4. Coloured Streamers
Another way to keep costs down but still stand out are these streamers. You can personalise to match your colour theme and create them whatever size suits you.

5. Glow Sticks
If you’re more of a party animal and cant wait to get the party started, why not kick things off straight away with funky glow sticks!

🌙 Let’s talk Bridesmaids ✨

When it comes to bridesmaids, it doesn’t always have to be one colour fits all!

An alternative to one block colour is to have a palette of colours instead.

Shades of a particular colour not only mean more scope for the style and material of dresses, but it also offers an opportunity for your bridesmaids to choose the shade that compliments them best.

You’ve chosen your best ladies for this once in a lifetime job, so it’s be nice to know they’re comfortable when they strut down that aisle by your side!

So, you’re a week away from the big day!… It’s all starting to feel real now isn’t it?

In amongst the excitement, keep in mind there are some practical elements that need finalising to ensure your ceremony runs smoothly.

Make sure you know the answers to at least the questions above. Things like power outlets, seating, photographers positions and timings are all important considerations.
