Party Review Time!

Did you know that a week prior to your party you will receive a full party plan to approve?

If you would like to make any changes or additions, you can do this with zero drama! Also... we know how children roll... and if on the day they request something completely different, thats also fine! The team are super reactive, have tons and tons of experience and can make changes right up to the last minute!

The most important thing for us is that the birthday child has a ball, the parents have zero stress and all the guests have a memorable time!

We love to party xx

Did you know today was 'BLUE MONDAY' - supposedly the most depressing day of the year!

I am pleased to say that we managed to beat the blues today - we delivered 2 0-5 sessions, 2 SEND sessions and 4 care home sessions - absolutely no doom and gloom for us today - just pure joy!

However... January does feel without doubt the longest month of the year, and I am totally over the dark evenings! Count down to spring has well and truly started for me... bring on the sunshine, flip flops and pimms!

A magic moment from my Carehome visit today. We were playing name that tune (as we always do midway through a session) and this week the theme was a trip to the pictures!

Instead of shouting out the answer to this particular song, they all started singing along - so I couldn't just play the intro (as I usually do with name that tune) I had to play the whole song. Picture it, if you can, at least 20 residents singing Edelweiss from The Sound of Music at the tops of their voices.

Maybe you had to be there, but boy, did it send shivers. Absolutely amazing. I feel so privileged to have witnessed it. A truly magical moment.

Did you know - Grandparents

We have lots of Grandparents who attend our sessions, either on their own with the little ones or as an additional adult.

One thing I absolutely love about Grandparents is the fun they bring - they have done their time parenting, and they are now all about FUN! They bring the moves, the singing, the 'I don't care how silly I may look dancing' vibe and I am so here for it!

Grandparents, aunties, uncles all family members, are always welcomed with open arms at Ragdolly Annas. Come and join the fun, we love having you xx

This week with Ragdolly Annas we are 'taking a walk on the wild side'

This means all of our tunes are animal related, we will be walking through the jungle, rocking our bears to sleep and hopping like frogs! For the adults, we have some Shakira, Tight Fit, Survivor and Toy Dolls (you will defo know these tunes, even if you aren't familiar with the artists!

The bubble machines are charged, the kit is ready, come and join us for some feel good, high energy musical fun with lots of bubbles and the parachute!

🫶 What does your perfect Sunday look like? 🫶

I blimmin love Sundays and in an ideal world my Sundays would always look like this:

So I would have had the best nights sleep, zero wake ups (no children crying at my house anymore, but my rescue pooch does take his guarding very seriously) followed by a lazy start - with coffee in bed brought to me by one of my sons (this never happens BTW!) - in my vision I'm wearing lovely PJ's 🤣

Of course it's my perfect Sunday, so the house is clean, all the ironing, homework, food shop - it's all done, oh and my hair is freshly washed and I don't resemble a scarecrow!

Next as a family we will have breakfast all together (this never happens) and we will then load the dogs into the car for a walk in the woods! The kids won't moan once about being cold, walking too far, or having a stones in their shoes!

The dogs will behave perfectly, and we will come home ready for a Sunday lunch with extra roast potatoes and Yorkshire puddings (which has been magically prepared!) The kids will then eat everything on their plates including all the vegetables!

We will then get under blankets and watch a family movie! I may have a snooze 💤

This is what I am aim for every single week, it never happens! surely I'm not asking too much?!🤣🤣

Repost from National Adoption Week - Nats Story

"We started our adoption journey in August 2019 and after 16 months of training sessions, courses, paperwork, finance checks, DBS checks, a house inspection, a pet report, a first aid course, interviews with family and friends, employment references, intensive interviews (which were more like therapy) and 2 panel hearings our son finally moved home!

He came to us at 10 months old in December 2020 and soon settled in to his new forever home. During the initial process we found out that Mali was about to become a big brother and our daughter by then aged 5 months moved home in September 2021.

We went from having my birth son Bertie, then age 8, to suddenly also having “2 under 2” which was a shock to the system. Yes our house is chaos. Yes, we end up sleeping in a different bed each night depending who wakes us up, our snack bill is through the roof and I am always sticky but they are our babies.

I won’t share their story as it’s theirs to tell not mine. Needless to say they are the perfect addition to our family. Our babies will always know they are adopted, it is not something we whisper so they can’t hear, it is not something to be ashamed of, it’s part of their history and we want them to own it.

As they get older they will learn more about where they came from but also about how hard we fought to get them. I want them to grow up to be proudly adopted children. Always our babies, always sticky, always proud 💙💖

The world may not change if you adopt a child, but for that child, their world will change.

🎈Party Review Time - Nat is a legend! 🎈

Like Lisa, Nat use to be a Ragdolly Annas customer. I connected with Nat the minute I met her,and I was always in awe of her at sessions and how she could Hokey Cokey with all the energy despite holding 2 of her children (she is a mama to 3) Of course, I recruited her and 2 years later here we are!

Initially she just hosted parties for us at weekends, but before long she became a fully fledged team member, delivering all of our session types, school discos and parties! She is my side kick at all events and I adore working with her - we sync when we are together, can communicate without talking and can predict each others moves.

Did you know - BUBBLES 🎶

Every single team member is the proud holder of a professional bubble machine - which means our bubbles fire out 1000's of bubbles and can fill the room in an instant!

Not only is bubble popping great for fine motor skills but they also look epic, kids love them and its an excuse for us to play some grown up tunes to sing a long too, whilst the the little ones are busy popping!

We LOVE bubbles, so at session we always have 2 bubble songs, we start and finish with them!

🎈🎈Our top 5 party games:🎈🎈

🎉 Musical Freeze - played in a variety ways depending on the children's ages and if there is a theme to the party - always played to a very popular dance song that the children will know and love to boogie to!

🎉The Train Game - Our amazing grown-ups create an arched tunnel and the children become the train - but watch out, the tunnel will get lower and lower!

🎉Limbo - so many awesome limbo-ers at our birthday parties! The limbo ribbon will get lower and lower until our party guests are sliding along the floor! Expect a lot of chanting 'LOWER, LOWER, LOWER'

🎉Turn Daddies into Mummies (also known as the loo roll game) - 2 teams, everyone with a loo roll - who can wrap their daddy the fastest! Followed by a dance off and a loo roll fight - yeah it makes a bit of a mess, but proper good fun!

🎉 Andy's Coming - Change the name, to the name of the children's teacher, and you have a personalised game specifically for the party children! The music stops, and they have to flop!

Of course, we have a whole heap of other games up our sleeves, plus every party will also have lots of bubbles, age appropriate party dances and the parachute!
