Moffat Water Hall The hall aims to provide a focus for the rural community of Moffat Water and surrounding area. Available for hire for a range of events and activities.

Owned and run by the community, the hall aims to provide a focus for the rural community of Moffat Water and surrounding area as well as attracting visitors and guests from further afield. The Hall is situated within the heart of the Southern Uplands, with easy access from the M74, and is fully accessible for our disabled visitors. The hall hosts a range of local events and activities and is an ex

cellent venue for community groups, live acts, celebrations, fundraising and corporate events. If you’d like to know more, make a booking or arrange a visit to the Hall, please email [email protected]. Facilities include:
- Fully fitted kitchen with oven, hob, microwave and dishwaster
- Licenced bar available for bookings
- Shower room
- Toilet facilities, including disabled access
- Large function hall
- Stage
- Heating and double glazing
- Seating and tables for up to 60 people
- Car parking spaces
- Ramped access

Professor Ronnie Cann 1954 - 2026
Ronnie was a much loved member of the Moffat Water Valley community. Alongside his academic career at The University of Edinburgh he was a passionate gardener. He regularly opened his garden at Waterside to visitors through the Scotland's Gardens Scheme with the proceeds going to charities including the Moffat Water Hall. He supported our events and for a time was part of the hall committee. In recent years Ronnie was losing his sight as a result of a genetic condition. In his memory our chosen charity partner for our summer Fair 2026 is the Royal National Institute of Blind people. There will he a raffle in aid of RNIB at our Summer Fair on Saturday 9 August 1-4pm with a fabulous range of prizes donated by valley residents and stall holders. Ronnie's sister Jean is a volunteer support group facilitator with RNIB and also our amazing hall committee treasurer.

Beautiful quilted gifts from pkquilting, colourful mosaics from Janet Proven, gorgeous pictures made from found objects by Homebird Creations by Rachael, fabulous fabric creations by the Sew Sisters, original gifts from Some people Wood, Burnside Personalised Keepsakes, Crafty Grandmas and Caressa Contemporary Aromas as well as stunning cards and prints from wildlife photographer Ann Druce. Discover lush skincare produces with Tropic with Lucie, aromatic house scents with SK Melts and don't miss the delicious homebaking and jam stall 😋

To keep your energy levels up there will be fresh homestyle Indian food from The Spice Heritage as well as coffees, teas, cold drinks, scones and cakes from the Moffat Water Valley bakers.

Outside there will be fun activities for all the family alongside the Moffat Water Hall preloved goods and plant stall. There's a rumour that Peter and friends are popping up along to provide some musical entertainment too 🎶

Moffat is the place to be next Sunday 9th August. Start your day with a visit to Moffat Farmers' Market (10.30am - 2.30pm) for some tasty treats, head out on the Selkirk Road to visit the beautiful Craigieburn Garden & Nursery (open 10am - 6.30pm) then continue on to the Moffat Water Hall Summer Fair (1-4pm) for a feast of crafts, food and fun. Finish the day with a strenuous hike up by the Grey Mare's Tail waterfall at Grey Mare's Tail Nature Reserve NTS, or perhaps a gentle stroll round Borders Forest Trust Carrifran wildwood or St Mary's Loch.
