Wifi is often tricky, and costly, to install in a green field site. We truly appreciate the support of Countryside Connections, who help ensure that our traders can take card payments without difficulty.
Countryside Connections are rural connectivity specialists, installing Ultrafast fibre broadband to the premises (FTTP), superfast 4G and 5G wireless networks, Starlink high-speed internet via low orbit satellite, and ultrafast cable-free line-of-site connections.

Next up, a big Thank You to Saranne and Pippa at C3 Communications for providing much-needed comms support. Saranne and Pippa were instrumental in ensuring articles were published by the local press in the run up to the Show. They also managed our social media presence in the run up to the Show and on the day, sharing important information and providing updates.
The Show Committee are truly grateful for their support.

As we reflect back to this time last week, to a glorious day with blue skies, a packed Showground and fantastic atmosphere, there are a few important 'thank you's that we need to make.
The first is to our Main Sponsor, Monnow Marquees.
Monnow Marquees don't just provide top quality marquees, they work tirelessly in support of the Show and can turn their hand to anything, even helping to sort electrical issues on the day!
The Show Society are indebted to all at Monnow Marquees for their continued support.

We’re very grateful for each and every one of our sponsors and traders, without them it wouldn’t be possible to stage the Show each year.
Alan Powell, a director of Monnow Marquees Ltd, a family business involving his brother John, wife, Vicky and daughter Sarah, has been involved in many different ways over the last 25 years. His company has been a long time sponsor and supporter of the Show and Alan is also an integral member of the management committee, fulfilling the important role of Showground Director.
Have you been in the area all your life?
I’ve been in Monmouth for more than 25 years, moving here in 1998 from Ross on Wye so not far.
What's your first recollection of the show?
My family is part of the farming community in the area so we’ve been going to the Show for as long as I can remember. Some of my favourite memories of the Show are when I was about ten years old with my father when we won first prize with a cow we entered in the British Friesian livestock showing classes. That would have been in the early 1970’s. More recently winning the prize for the best medium sized trade stand for 6 years running with Washrite and then Monnow Marquees.
When did Monnow Marquees first get involved?
We had our first trade stand at the Show in 1998 for our previous company, Washrite. We set up Monnow Marquees in 2003 and have been taking part in the Show since then, becoming a major sponsor in 2018
What's your role on the committee?
I’m the Showground Director, which means I have responsibility for advising on the layout of the Show and making sure the fields are ready and safe for the people coming along to the Showground. I get called on during the year to help out with jobs that need some machinery and more than a couple of the committee to cope with. Latterly, with the help of my brother John, this has involved taking an old caravan to be scrapped, mowing and helping re-order our storage facility to make accessing necessary equipment easier for the upcoming show. I believe, the more you put into something the more you get back from it.
Why did you decide to sponsor the show?
Farming is a big part of our community and I think it’s really important to support the Show to make sure that we keep the links between agriculture and the wider community. Sponsoring the Show and providing the marquees on the day itself is my way of contributing to the ongoing success of this important annual event.
It's been a difficult time for the Show, especially through the pandemic, what's the best thing about seeing it return to its place in the calendar?
I think that traditions are important so I’m really pleased to see the Show return to its spot in the annual calendar. August wouldn’t be the same without the Show!
What's the biggest challenge about being part of the committee?
It takes a lot of time and effort to put the Show on each year and, like many of the other committee members, summer is a very busy time for me. So my main challenge is finding the time needed to do all the things I need to do.
What are you most looking forward to this year?
It was brilliant to get the Show back up and running last year and we were pleased with how the community came out to support it. I’m looking forward to this year’s Show being bigger and better, seeing more people come through the gates and making sure we can continue for many years to come.
