We are bringing an exciting line up of events to Angus as part of our 2nd A Taste of Angus Food and Drink Festival.

Running from 31st August to 8th September, in venues across Angus, there’s something for everyone!

We know it's a little early to be thinking about those bells jingling and the big guy with the white beard, but, our Christmas calendar is getting busy.

We've got two festive menus available for Drop n' Dine (a box of deliciousness delivered to your door with reheat instructions) and for Private Dinner Parties, including service (min. 10 people).

We also offer canapé packages, additional courses and late night cheese platters if you want a little extra sparkle!

🏰 PRIVATE CHEF & HOSPITALITY SET UP 🏰

In the beginning of 2024 we were invited by a client to get their beautiful castle guest-ready for their first event.

We created their bar assortiment, cocktails and menus. Chef Wouter was on site for private chef service morning till evening throughout the week. Our service team were there smiling and shaking cocktails!

It was such a pleasure working alongside this client and being able to be part of this castle’s history.

The wonderful also popped by to snap some gorgeous photos for our client. Aren’t they stunning?

We’re extremely busy with private chef service through to September (if anyone sees tell him we say hi!😂).

Great fun today judging the final of The Great Angus Tattie Taste Off at Arbroath High School.

The finalists created and cooked some amazing tattie recipes - it was really hard to pick a winning dish!

Look out for the winner, hopefully announced in The Courier in the coming days! Their recipe has the potential to feature on the menu at The Townhouse in Arbroath.

Huge thanks to Developing the Young Workforce, Tay Cities, The Townhouse Hotel Arbroath, Rae’s and Potato House for supporting this initiative.

This weekend team Rae’s have been busy bees. We were at Lauriston Castle for a beautiful outdoor lunch buffet and then headed to our friends at House of Dun for a dreamy formal 3 course meal for .

Thank you to all who joined last night and thank you to Smithies Deli & Gin Emporium for having us 😍

Here’s what we rustled up…

🦆 Duck rillette with green apple & balsamic on oatcake.

🐟 Smithie’s Gin cured salmon, horseradish crème friache, dill pickled cucumber and carrot & tattie scone.

🥣 Celeriac velouté with hazelnut crumble and chive oil.

🎣 Roasted monkfish with romesco sauce, pomme anna, Jerusalem artichoke & fennel and spinach salad.

🍗 Roasted chicken supreme with carrot crème, parsnip, crispy fried polenta, pickled red cabbage and jus de veau.

🍊 Tangerine & almond cake with merengue & star anise ice cream.

Burns Supper at House of Dun, Garden & Estate NTS was incredible! Thank you to all who came. If you took any videos or photos please post below 👇😃 In usual Helen/Wouter fashion, we got carried away having a great time and forgot to take a single one. The entertainment was great, the House of Dun team were (as usual) fabulous and the food and cocktails were delicious.

Wouter has been private chef this weekend at one of his favourite locations 😍 and we've been inundated with enquiries for the rest of the year and are quickly filling up.

On Thursday we have our first Supper Club at Smithies Deli & Gin Emporium, which is shaping up to be a great event. There is ONE REMAINING TABLE! 🫣

All of this waffle just to say... thank you for keeping us busy, on our toes and loving what we do. What kind of events would you like to see in 2024? What Angus locations would you like us to pop-up in?

We're celebrating the works of our great bard on the 25th of January at 6:30pm in the beautiful and historic National Trust for Scotland property House of Dun, Garden & Estate NTS.

Back by popular demand, we are very excited to be collaborating again with The National Trust for Scotland's beautiful House of Dun in our stunning Angus countryside. Join us for an evening of fabulous Rae's food and drink, Scots poetry and pipes in honour of Rabbie Burns!

You will be welcomed with a drinks reception and head up to the rarely seen by the public Old Library where we will serve up a lovely family-style traditional Burns supper. Expect some poetry and stories peppered throughout your meal in this historic setting.

Last night was brilliant. Our Cork Dork Wine Tasting at Smithies Deli & Gin Emporium was an absolute blast.

We celebrated some of our amazing Angus produce as part of A Taste of Angus Food and Drink Festival paired with delicious wines from Wine Importers Scotland🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿.

🍽We are delighted to announce that the Taste of Angus Food & Drink Festival will run from the 4th to the 11th of November.🍽

The week long festival will celebrate and promote the amazing larder of Angus and support local hospitality and retail venues.
From talented chefs 🧑‍🍳 to local growers 🧑‍🌾, we want everyone to get involved!

Throughout the week, venues will offer exclusive events such as tastings, dinners, meet the maker and workshops. Venues and producers will be working together to put Angus food and drink on menus across our county.

We are joining forces with Smithies Deli & Gin Emporium for a wine tasting not to forget. As part of the A Taste of Angus Food and Drink Festival enjoy a 5 course Angus-produce inspired meal paired with the most delicious wines from Smithies Deli & Gin Emporium.

The tasting will be lead by Paul Graham of Wine Importers. All levels of wine-experience are welcome.

🌊LANDXSEA 🌊

Montrose’s 1st is off to a smashing start. We were lucky enough to host a pop up at last night as part of the festival.
In true “having too much fun” fashion, we didn’t take enough pictures of our 4 course vegan menu. It was filled with delicious foraged and homegrown treats.

Thanks to the Playhouse for having and inviting us, you guys are a pleasure to work with.
