Well, the weekend is upon us again, which is most welcome, as James and I are both getting over nasty flu bugs, so have been feeling quite lethargic. As you can see from the photo, Badger seems to be copying our feelings and hasn't been quite so bouncy as usual!

We wish you all a restful weekend, enjoying time with your families.

We know it’s never easy to think about death, and that many people put off planning for their funeral or even avoid it altogether. And yet there are several very good reasons why having a funeral plan in place makes perfect sense – from an emotional, practical and financial point of view.
So don’t put off planning ahead any longer. Now is the time to get started.
You can reach us over the phone, or pop in to see us and find out more.

We have been reflecting this week on what sets us apart from others businesses offering unattended "direct" cremations.

We look after your loved from the moment we collect them into our care, where they remain until the day that James personally accompanies them into the crematorium chapel. Some beautiful music is played upon entering the chapel and a moment is taken to pay our respects, ensuring dignity and the utmost care every step of the way.

We will be here to support you throughout this difficult time and will do all we can to help bring a little comfort, for example, dress your loved one in their own clothes if wished, or arrange for you to come sit with them in our peaceful chapel.

Care and support for your family 24 hours a day, every day.

Well, how awful is this storm hitting the UK today?
When I took Badger out for his walk earlier, we almost got blown away, and my hair looked somewhat different when I got back, to when I went out (James doesn't have this problem!)

Grief can feel very much like a storm, battering you one minute, then calmer the next. You never know how long it will last, can leave a trail of destruction, and at the end, there is a "new normal", and we adjust to this, but never forget our pre-storm life.

Let's all support each other throughout life's storms!

Take care and keep safe.

Many people find it a comfort to keep a little part of their loved one close by when they have passed away, in the form of a keepsake using a very small amount of their loved ones ashes.

This can range from jewellery to beautiful hand blown glass pieces.

We can provide keepsakes from a variety of suppliers, and one of them is Stuart Wiltshire Glass, who creates beautiful glass pieces in different styles, and he has just created a new, more cost effective, mini range. These are smaller paperweights, and in a a few different styles.

He has kindly sent us a sample of his new round mini paperweight, shown in the photo (the smaller blue one at the front).

You can find more details on his website, or pop in to see us and we can show you some samples and help guide you if wanting to purchase something special.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend.

As the end of another year fast approaches, we wish to take the opportunity to say thank you to our staff and everyone who has supported us this year, however big or small.

We both feel it is such a great honour and privilege to provide care and support to assist families at such difficult times in their lives, looking after their loved ones with the utmost dignity and respect.

Our thoughts are with all the families who have experienced a bereavement, whose New Year celebrations will never be quite the same, but memories of their loved one will always live on.

Best wishes to you all for a Peaceful & Happy New Year.

Whilst James and I (and Badger, of course) wish you all a peaceful and Merry Christmas, we know that it can be an extremely difficult time for those who have lost loved ones, be it recently or many years ago.

Please take care of yourselves, allow some quiet time if needed, talk to friends or family, share happy memories, and don’t feel guilty in enjoying some laughter.

Even though our office may not be open as much as usual during this festive period, we are still here to support you and are always just a phone call away, any time of the day or night.

Warmest wishes

As part of our latest Light a Candle campaign, we’ve shared virtual memorial candles to help honour loved ones around the Christmas period. Thank you to everyone who created a memorial candle.
Here are the remaining memorial candles that were submitted. Keep a look out for the next opportunity to Light a Candle.

James and I dislike having our photographs taken, but thought it might be nice to share a decent photo of us, with the very photogenic Badger, wishing you all a Merry Christmas.

Therefore, we asked our dear friend Wendy Veale Celebrant aka Badger's "Dogmother" to come and take a few snaps.

There were several attempts, as Badger doesn't like to keep still for too long, as most of you know!

Anyway, here is the first attempt (taken just after his tongue went up my nostrils), and the last attempt, when he finally settled down for more than a second!

We thought these would give you a little chuckle (or nightmares!!)

Best wishes

We wanted to say a massive thank you to all those who attended our "Mince Pies & Memories" event on Wednesday.

There was lots of chatting and cake eating going on, and lots of tombola prizes being taken away.

Well done to those who won the raffle prizes - we are sure you will enjoy them.

Everyone really seemed to enjoy the afternoon (and the mulled wine!), and you all helped contribute in raising an amazing £525 for Cotswold Friends. Along with another £200 donated by Steve Keyte's Father Brown Facebook Family Group, that's an incredible £725 going to support the work of this super local service.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend.
