We met a wonderful lady this week called Barbara, who held her wedding reception at the United Services Club in 1957.

It was fascinating to learn how the building had changed over the years and none more so than the former ladies toilets just inside the front entrance. Apparently this room used to be a 'men only' smoking room.

The original ceiling inside had dark brown wallpaper on it. Jake cleaned a piece of it today - looks like the dark brown was actually ni****ne and the original colour was light brown / beige. Wonder what they were smoking?

We were expecting The Plantation for the Team Knockout game tonight but at 2pm they cancelled.
Since the heating is on and food cooked, we'll open anyway - anyone who wants to come down for a couple of games is welcome. Open from 7.30pm.

Formerly the Morley United Services Club, we aim to provide a safe and friendly place for families in the local community.

High Street Social Club is the successor to the well-known Morley United Services Club, which ceased trading in 2018.

Our aim is to maintain a friendly venue where people can get together to socialise, play games, and enjoy traditional club entertainment.

As well as the concert room (which can accommodate around 120 people), we have a function room (40+ people) available to hire for birthdays, reunions etc., and a games room with pool table and dart board.

The club is open to both members and non-members for functions and games.
