If it’s live performance you’re after, The Vale hosts a variety of music, theatre, dance, and cinema throughout the year. This space is also used by our resident Carnival arts organisations to develop new productions and artists as part of our Northern Carnival Centre for Excellence. Our mixed-use and specialist studios are also a hit with visual artists. All our spaces are available for hire and we would love to welcome you to our growing family of creatives that call The Vale home.

Yoga class with at The Vale

Wednesday 15 January 2025. 6-7pm Vinyasa Flow (all levels welcome)
Don’t be intimidated by the name - Vinyasa simply means moving with the breath. We will explore a new theme every week and move through a sequence with the breath allowing us to enter a fluid, meditative state of movement. Options, advancements and modifications will be offered which means that this class is suitable for everybody from beginners to advanced practitioners.

Founded in 2024, Flow and Glow Yoga Co are built on the belief that yoga should be accessible to everyone regardless of age, experience, shape, size or financial circumstances. Their mission is to help as many people as possible unlock the numerous physical and mental benefits of regular yoga practice, fostering well-being and balance in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Monday 13 January 2025. 6-7pm - Yoga for Beginners
This class is perfect if you are brand new to yoga or need a recap on the basics. Each week we explore a different theme and work through a sequence of postures, exploring how each one feels within the body before slowing down for a relaxing stretch and savasana (final resting pose).

Our General Manager, Amelia, graduated with a Distinction from Leeds University on the Senior Arts Fundraising and Philanthropy Fellowship run by Cause4 with University of Leeds. The course allowed Amelia to develop her skills in fundraising, organisational development and change management alongside 9 cultural leaders from across the UK. Amelia said 'Learning from my peers in the cohort was one of the best parts of this opportunity. I'm so happy to have had the time to spend developing my leadership and fundraising skills learning from experts across the arts and charity sector.' Congratulations, Amelia!

🎶 Come enjoy great live music at The Vale as part of our Monthly Sunday Sessions. 12 January 2025 between 1pm – 4pm. 🌟 This month’s special guest is Naomi Kalu. Naomi, a 20-year-old singer-songwriter, has been creating music since she was 14. She has collaborated with artists like Sheba Arts, Commonword, and Expression Manchester. Naomi's music is eclectic, influenced by artists like Bon Iver, Tracy Chapman, Elliot Smith, Frank Ocean, and Lauren Hill. She plays both acoustically and electrically, experimenting with new sounds and styles. An easy afternoon packed with live music in a welcoming setting ideal for the whole family. Get some friends, your children, a drink from the bar, sit and listen, or perhaps even join our house band for a number or two. And best of all, it is free! We wish to see you there!

Once an empty plot, our community garden has been transformed into a beautiful haven where life flourishes, bonds grow and the community comes together. Run by volunteers, it’s a shared space for planting, nurturing and connecting. It's also a great place to learn sustainable gardening techniques which are transferable. Everyone is welcome to join 'Our Space' every Saturday to help tend this special corner we’ve created together.
