A flowery afternoon. All of these flowers are growing in the woods. All within about 20 metres of each other and all very unassuming.
Some are tiny, others not so, but they all have their place in the annual cycle of the woods 🥰

Some of you clever people may remember we rescued some baby rabbits from the bottom of the kiln two years ago.
We took them home to try to raise them.
A couple of them escaped......guess what we spotted in the garden today! 😍

An impromptu midweek sleep in the woods.
So wanted to sleep under the stars, no tarp overhead. Last night was the perfect night for it. Kit chucked into the car, arrived at 10pm.
It was stunning. The sky was so busy with satellites and bats and then treated to an enormous shooting star directly above the glade.
So glad I made the effort to get there. Absolutely love these woods 🥰🥰🥰

Beautiful bouquet for a beautiful bride.
We were so lucky to have such a lovely couple for our first wedding of the year. The sun shone and the bluebells were magical.

Unloaded the latest load of charcoal yesterday. Truck still in garage so had to fit it all in the car! 🤣

The approach of winter means felling season will soon be upon us. When we fell trees we then need to extract the timber in order to process it. This allows us to fund the upkeep and management of the woods. Wispa is an important member of our team. She is our muscle! We use her to help to extract the timber. This allows us to keep damage to the woodland to a minimum as we do not need to bring in big heavy machinery....if its too big for Wispa we make it small enough! Luckily, most of our timber is turned into charcoal so we are able to reduce the size of anything too large to haul, before we move it. Having spent the summer in a field, this morning was a gentle wander up to the woods.....just a little reminder what life is actually about! 😅🥰
