We host some of the finest guitarists currently on the scene this November and welcome some new faces. The incredible Rick Vito, Raul Midon and Craig Ogden join us this year for the first time. Rick played with Fleetwood Mac and currently works with Mick Fleetwood in his Blues Band; he has a signature sound and is considered to be one of the greatest slide-guitar players. Raul Midon is a sensation
al singer, guitarist and songwriter. He has worked with Stevie Wonder and Herbie Hancock. His playing reaches out to soul, flamenco, latin and jazz styles. Craig Ogden is one of the most popular and respected classical guitarists and his performance with the Liverpool Mozart Orchestra of the Rodrigo Concerto de Aranjuez must not to be missed. Other new artists to the festival include Rumours of Feetwood Mac, providing a recreation of all the key moments in this bands phenomenal history. The hugely influential Pere Ubu guarantees a high powered performance. The Robin Nolan Trio offer Gypsy Jazz with a cool contemporary edge. Singular mention must be made of a very special guest of the Guitar Festival this year the legendary Joan Armatrading. We are delighted that Joan will be playing a solo concert for us and know that this will be a highlight of the musical year for Wirral audiences. Return visits from Joe Brown, Paul Carrack, Andy Fairweather Low, Deaf School, Go West, China Crisis, Martin Simpson and Woody Mann make this one of the finest music festivals anywhere in Britain.
