The inaugural Cheeky Fest went well last night. I'd been wanting to to it for years, so to finally have done it, albeit on a smaller stage than I'd originally hoped, it was great to actually do it.

Thank you to Alejandro Sesma for the proverbial push, encouragement, help with the website nd for making the campaign video(s).

It was great to meet the musicians in person - especially those I'd interviewed beforehand (Conor, Jessie, and Joe @ Paradise Taxi).

2 of my oldest friends, my niece, middle brother and his wife came to support me / the musicians / Nordoff and Robbins, which was lovely.

Now I'm starting to think about the next one next year; Easter? Who's coming?

Cheeky Fest was borne out of a need to help people struggling with;

- mental health such as , , &
- finding & keeping fulfilling & financially rewarding
- finding how they co-exist with the rest of society

My name is Rupert Cheek, and music is my first language. As a child, I struggled to speak; speech therapy didn't help me but everything changed when I discovered music therapy. Music gave me a hashtag , a way to communicate and express myself.

All of the money from your ticket will be donated to Nordoff & Robbins, the UK's leading music therapy organization, to help them provide music therapy sessions, train therapists, and acquire essential musical instruments.

Join Keiron Marshall and his Blues Matters band for a night of top-notch, gritty South London Blues on Saturday January 20th (7pm).

This Blues Matters gig will be part of our last-ditch-saloon fundraising campaign to try to keep the doors open at our beloved Sound Lounge. As a result, a variety of tickets are available, giving you the opportunity to donate to help The Sound Lounge survive.
