Can’t recommend enough…

My first commissioned piece ✨

A few months ago, I was asked if I would consider doing a one off piece for a 80th birthday gift.
I never even considered this before and honestly, was a little bit scared in having that added pressure in knowing that I wasn’t creating this piece for me but for someone very special as a gift. All I knew is that the person in question loved English flowers.

As usual, my go to florist Sweetpea came to my rescue when I approached her with the details and she put aside an arrangement of flowers so that when I came in on the morning of my shoot, I could select what flowers I wanted. Boy did she know what type of flowers I would go for. I think I chose nearly all the ones she put aside for me. Simply gorgeous. Big thanks to Melanie from Sweetpea for your amazing customer service and always providing me with the utmost delicious flowers 🎀

This piece was delivered and gifted last Friday and received with love and gratitude from the new owner 🌸

So I guess what I’ve taken from all this is if someone else is looking for a one off piece that’s created just for you…. I’m here to assist ✨

Holiday 🥂

It’s time for us to take Archie 🐶 and Bertie 🐶 on their annual break.

They have worked (nearly) as I hard as I have over the summer and need some rest 😴relaxation☺️and long beach walks.

We will be back and ready for the Christmas build up on Tuesday 22 October at 9am!

🌿Happy Anniversary to this gorgeous pair who married last October. Family friends as well as clients, it was a joy to create bridal flowers for someone I watched grow up into such a beautiful person. Keep dancing H&R 🌿

🌾When deciding on funeral flowers, the decision can feel overwhelming.

🌾A Tied Sheaf is a lovely tied bunch of flowers in colours of your choice.

🌾It’s a natural and eco friendly choice as it is completely foam and plastic free, making them ideal for natural burials.

🌾They also give the option of being taken home by the family to display in a vase after the funeral.

💫Thursday’s wedding was special. D&N gave me the opportunity to decorate the truly stunning

What an absolute treat to flower the staircase and mantelpiece as well as create huge foliage swags in the reception room.

Thank you to my wonderful onsite assistant Emma, of Floribus Luxury Flowers and to Imogen of Aswarby Rectory who was so helpful in the planning stages.

We loved every minute.

August you have been a full and fulfilling month! It has been our busiest wedding month of 2024 and we have lots of images of those weddings to share with you over the next few weeks! And you have been busy putting orders first collection and delivery through our new website!

🌸Apparently it’s good to show the person behind the business, so here I am!

🌺We’ve had a flurry of new followers in recent weeks so I thought I’d say hello! 👋

🌸I’m Melanie and I set up Sweetpea Florist in 2018 with help from Archie 🐶 & Bertie 🐶, as well as my brilliant family and partner.

🌺We create gorgeous floral fabulousness for any occasion whether it’s a birthday bouquet, flowers for a wedding, or farewell flowers for a funeral.

🌸Our lovely shop is in Barnby Gate in Newark on Trent. Pop in and say hello. Bertie is provides an excellent meet and greet service!
You can order flowers in store, online or just give us a call. We offer local delivery as well as click and collect.

We are back! ..to some of my favourite things…sweetpeas from my mum’s garden, a gorgeous scented candle from and lovely words in a pretty thank you card. ➡️

Bertie 🐶 enjoyed his break last week but is worn out and now asleep after a busy morning of flower deliveries and wedding consultations, with more to come!

🐶Bertie has insisted on a short break before a very busy August of weddings. His ‘meet and greet’ services have been in great demand and he needs a few days rest! 🐶

Hot Summer

Throwback to a June wedding last year where heat was in the air and in the colour scheme!

It was hot hot hot! 🌺

I LOVED this working with this colour combo and the bride and groom were incredible to let me run wild with it. Their outdoor ceremony was wonderful!

‘Something blue..’

This very pretty wedding which took place in the stunning ballroom at Newark Town Hall incorporated shades of blue with white and cream combined with asparagus fern. Long stems of delphinium, larkspur with snapdragons, stocks and peony. What’s not to love?!

It was a joy to work with G&K and I can’t wait to see the official pics!

🌱Scent🌱

It’s hard to believe… but the shop smells better than ever! We are now stocking beautiful hand poured candles from also based in Nottinghamshire.

Not only do they smell divine but they look stunning too. They make a fabulous gift by themselves or alongside our gorgeous bespoke bouquets.
