Claypole Village Hall

Claypole Village Hall Claypole Village Hall is available to hire for community groups, events, parties, wedding receptions.
(5)

Facilities include: large main hall with vintage features, a stage, servery, ample parking, a field/paddock & beautiful gardens. Claypole Village Hall is an early 20th century 'arts and crafts' style building with beautiful period features, making it a great venue for wedding receptions, parties, fairs, events, as well as being a fantastic community space. It was gifted to the village by benefacto

r Harry Coulby, a Claypole-born man who made his fortune in shipping in the USA but never forgot his roots in the Lincolnshire village. As well as the impressive main hall (which features a stage & servery/bar area), there are beautiful gardens, a large grassed area (suitable for a marquee), ample parking and a children's play area. We are also lucky to have The Side House Coffee Shop in the adjoining former caretaker's cottage - well worth a visit for breakfast, lunch or coffee & cake. The Hall is a charitable trust and run by a management committee, rather than by the local Parish Council. If you would like to make a booking, please visit the online booking system on our website: https://www.claypolevillagehall.org/onlinebooking.

🥂As we wrap up for 2024, we've been reflecting on what a busy and successful year it's been at the Hall. Here are some before and after photos.
📝As a result of numerous funding bids and some very generous bequests, we've completed 3 major projects - renovation of the former library to create the Coulby Room, a full refurb of our kitchen and a brand new car park. We've also created some beautiful new outside spaces on the paddock.
🙏We're incredibly grateful to everyone who has volunteered their time, expertise and hard work into all of these projects, and also to our funders/benefactors: South Kesteven District Council SKDC UKSPF fund, The Bernard Sunley Foundation, Jane Taylor and Margaret Barron.
👀Watch this space for more to come in 2025, and please let us know if you'd like to join our lovely group of volunteers.

💙💛Over the last 2.5 years, we’ve been involved with the fundraising and support for Rectory for Refugees - Claypole.
1,000 days of the war will be marked by prayers for peace at the church on Tuesday.
Everyone welcome. 🙏

💙On Tuesday 19th November it will be 1,000 days since the Ukraine War started.
💛The Horai family arrived at the Rectory on 19th May 2022 so that also makes it exactly 2.5 years since they joined our community.
The Remembrance Day poppies are still on display in St Peter’s along with the perspex figures of fallen soldiers. Rev Jon and the Church Wardens have agreed to make the church available from 9am - 6pm for people to light a candle and pray for peace on Tuesday. We will put the altar in the centre and drape it with the Ukrainian flag.
At 10am, the Horais will be there, along with Linda and others, to pray together and have refreshments together afterwards.
We hope you can join us 🙏

We’re really grateful to David for his time & expertise at the hall over the last 10 days. The digital plan of the building will be a huge help in planning our next project - there’s always something with a 102-year old building!!
We might take a little breather until 2025 before we start on that though! 😅

🙏THANK YOU to our funders🙏
The work on the car park was the most expensive project we’ve undertaken to date and a challenge to find a funder who would consider it.
We’re incredibly grateful to the South Kesteven District Council SKDC UK Shared Prosperity Fund who gave us £23,800 towards it.
Originally, we hadn’t planned to do the pathways but at the end of August, we received a huge surprise in the post. A legacy donation of £5,000 left to us in her will by Miss Margaret Barron. This very generous gift enabled us to upgrade the paths as well. We hope Margaret would be pleased to see it put to such good use.

The guys from jordanroadsurfacing have work like troopers this week to get all the work done on the car park and we’re really grateful.
Special thanks to local resident, Jeremy, who has managed it all for Jordan’s.

✅CAR PARK DONE✅
More before/during/after photos to come but here’s a start.
🚗The outcome of having the standard parking bays/driving routes is that we have fewer parking spaces overall.
We want to be really clear from the outset - the VH car park is for hall users, The Side House Coffee Shop customers, and community use.
By community use, we mean people visiting local businesses like F. Doncasters Butchers, , Beauty studio, visitors to the village, school drop offs, the library bus, walkers, etc. 🚗

⛔️We are not a storage solution for surplus/uninsured/unMOTed vehicles - this will be monitored and vehicles may be removed - thank you in advance for respecting this ⛔️
