FAQs - What happens during a collection appointment??

Once your dress has arrived into store with us we will contact you to arrange your collection appointment. For this, you’ll come back to the boutique and get the chance to try on your ACTUAL dress!! eek!

During this appointment it’s the perfect time to have a look at accessories, veils and shoes, and start thinking about your bridal look as a whole 🤍

Something to remember: before you go to your first seamstress appointment you’ll need to find your wedding shoes and take them with you!

‘It was always you’ ✨

Hundreds of brides have stood in front of our iconic yes wall to celebrate finding their dress with us, maybe 2025 will be the year you get your photo too!

Let’s kick off the New Year with a little re-introduction:

Firstly, Hi! 👋🏼 we’re The Bridal Dress Company, an independent bridal boutique in the centre of historic Newbury.

The owner and founder, Charlotte, had a crazy idea mid-covid lockdown during her maternity leave and it blossomed into the boutique. Having never worked in retail, let alone bridal, this was a huge jump for her. Wanting a little bit of work flexibility to be able to raise her two little boys (one of which only arrived a few days ago!!) away from the 9-5 she opened the store in April 2021.

Charlotte told her sister (Hi, that’s me! 👋🏼) about her plans and she decided to help her open the store. I then spent a year working within the boutique before going back to my pre-Covid role as Cabin Crew for Virgin Atlantic, all the while running our social accounts from across the world. I now continue to do so from my new home in Dubai.

A couple of years ago, Megan joined our team! She has always worked in the wedding world but swapped the bridal bouquets for bridal boutiques. Not long after, Izzy became a part of our dream team (this is also our little group chat name 🤍). These girls are so passionate about their job and have so much fun in appointments with you!!

The last four years have been a bit of a whirlwind since opening with a lot of learning and growth. We’ve met the most wonderful people along the way and have had the opportunity to dress the most beautiful brides!! We feel so lucky 🥰

We can’t wait to see what 2025 has in store for us ✨

Meet MOLLIE ❤️🩷💜

This beautiful wedding dress by is my current personal favourite!! I tried it on the other day (only a few days before my own wedding!!) and wished I’d had enough time to order one in for myself! The fit is so beautiful, it really emphasises your waist and if you’re only petite like me, (lil 5ft1 gal here) it’s the perfect full skirted gown that doesn’t feel like it’s wearing you! I could rave about her all day. HUGE fan.

**If the giant bow isn’t your style, it’s only attached by poppers so you can remove it as and when you’d like 🎀

Vera Wang Bride is new brand that is independent of Vera’s couture line, priced accessibly and will be available in stores from September.
