Today marks our last popup of the summer here at the mighty 🥲 We’ve had an absolute stormer and couldn’t have done it without all you lovely Ouse Cruisers 🛶

Big thanks go out to Fred, Dee, Hollie, Dave and the entire crew here at the pub who have helped us along the way and been kind enough to let us do our thing 💃🕺

The guys have Archfest 2 kicking off from 4pm and we are running our summer menu with the addition of some delicious specials 👀

Weekend recap! 📸

We provided a fully open bar for a gorgeous engagement party over in Hexham, for our good friend & her fiancé Dan.

She asked us for a cocktail menu, regular mixed drinks and BEER 🍻. We knew we had to deliver so grabbed some Water Confidence IPA and Lost In Translation Kolsch from the guys down at which went down a storm.

The most popular cocktail of the day was the “Picante De La Casa” a Tommy’s Margarita with coriander and chilli 🌶️ 🤤.

All 80 of the guests enjoyed fast and free flowing drinks from our awesome team and set up, accompanied of course with maximum funk and soul 🎶

Cocktail Masterclass kinda night 👩‍🏫🍸

It was Alexa’s big 3-0, so last night we showed 10 budding mixologists the ropes of cocktail bartending!

There were some delicious cocktails and nothing got smashed so a huge success in my eyes. ✅

A massive thanks to and the group for being awesome, and for providing an amazing location too. is a monster pad and I’d highly recommend booking if you can! 🏡

As well as private hire mobile bar events, weddings, festivals and corporate events - We like to offer these more intimate cocktail masterclasses too, which helps spread the word about good quality hospitality and you get to meet heaps of new people along the way. 🤝🤝

It’s been a long and busy year, and a long few years before that too. I pour everything I have into keeping this business alive and providing as many amazing events for our loyal customers as possible, but sometimes you need a little bit of a change to keep things going.

Our old branding did us well, serviced the classic and suave way of cocktail bartending that I set out to do… But going into 2024 I think it’s high time for a refresh, with more colour, some more life and some more fun!

We have changed our colours to include some lighter and more vibrant tones, a friendlier and more simple type face & a striking orange, sliced into an S to be recognised across the board! So keep an eye out for it. Our main brand logo still asserts class, but with a softer edge & our bottled cocktails don our slightly more relaxed face, too.

Our brand message is to promote positive communication between one another, in a time like this especially. Everyone has a story to tell, and if you listen you may just learn something. Hospitality is a catalyst for conversation and the smoother it is, the more at ease you will feel, which always shows through in communication too. So let us make you feel at ease with our events and cocktails, take a sip & tell your story, then see where it goes?

2023, a year for a change of face 🌄

This year will be a year of path finding, and path following - Because as much as these last few years have been tremendous teachers and integral to the growth of our small business, they have also been a whirlwind.

We believe that without keeping in sight your core values and identity, when the times get tough, you can lose your way. The product and experience we strive to deliver with is one of flamboyance, quality, style and expertise… and in order to ensure this happens looking forward, we feel it could be time for change.

Our core values for 2023 are as follows;

Fresh first 🍋
Its ALL in the details
Always make the customer feel at home, at the bar, in their home.
To prioritise customer obsession
To stand out, by blending in
To always show value through fast, efficient and well executed drinks service.

To coincide with our new focus on core values, and to put a book end to the last few years of madness, (which for us resembles growth, adaptation, joy and pain) 📈we find it only fitting to come into this next chapter of our business with a new face to match the new attitude.

Time for a rebrand 🤜🤛

As well as our sleek branding has done this far, we feel that a modernisation of our image is necessary at this point. We want to appeal to a wider audience, communicate a clearer message and play the long game for the future.

This first quarter will be spent planning and trialling new messages, colour palettes and logo designs to come into the summer with a fresh face and a hunger for the years that lie ahead.

Our name will remain the same, as we have built up an amazingly loyal customer base with a sterling reputation, purely by word of mouth. So when we launch our new brand, the impact will be maximised.

It’s been great this far and it’s only getting better.

A wheelie good Espresso Martini

Back again at The Swordmaker HQ to make the ESPRESSO MARTINI! 🍸☕️ It is a shame that we aren't at The Tyne Bar on these wonderfully sunny days, especially because Curtis Ross Milligan now has nothing to do. This video was slightly less slick than the last one, probably due to the 3 Negroni's, who knows? Join us in the garden to watch a grown man, lose his mind and teach you how to make THE MOST MORE-ISH COCKTAIL THERE IS!!!! Let's all try and have a laugh, this will be over before we know it x PS. It was 20ml of Brown Sugar Syrup & 50ml of Espresso!!

Got 5 Seconds? Learn how to make our Espresso Martini! -37.5ml Spiced rum -12.5ml Kahlua -50ml Freshly brewed arabica espresso -20ml Demerara sugar syrup 1 - Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker with ice, shake HARD for 10 - 15 seconds, to acheive an apparent and consistent foam. 2 - Double strain cocktail into a pre-chilled coupe/martini glass. 3 - Garnish with three espresso beans. ENJOY at home, our pop-up bar or at Market Shaker !
