Winter's Gibbet is a 19th-century replica gallows located near Elsdon, Northumberland, England. It commemorates the hanging of William Winter in 1792 for the murder of Margaret Crozier. Winter's body was left to hang from the gibbet for many years as a public deterrent. The current structure is a replica, but it stands as a reminder of a dark chapter in local history and a harsh form of punishment.
