Somehow we’re late into June now and I don’t really know where the year’s gone so far. How have we got summer holidays on the horizon? How have we got to be thinking about a time where things are going to quieten off very slightly as I’m sure a lot of businesses will face over the summer with people going on holiday, changes to personnel and time off. It’s a challenge. Does that mean that we should be planning for September? Should we be giving it a really big push for September? Do we take advantage of the summer and taking it a little bit easy? Do we need to be working full pelt through that time? What are your thoughts? What are you doing for the summer and are you having a big push for the start of September?

I know on LinkedIn most of my talk is golf but as ever there are reasons behind it – financially golf provides a big chunk of my yearly business whether that’s through FORE Business or through other golf-related connections that I have. I’m sure you’ll all have seen the LIV Championships that took place in London earlier this month as part of an eight tournament series. What are your thoughts? It’s a very compelling and a very controversial set-up and organisation. It has a lot of us Newcastle fans slightly torn in a sense that there’s even more publicity being raised regarding our ownership seeing as the managing director of Newcastle United is still linked to the LIV Golf Tournament. Should fans be drawn on theses sort of major geopolitical issues in light of the Government’s relationship with these types of organisations and countries. It’s a very fine balance. I’d be intrigued to hear your thoughts. Is this something that as a fan of golf, or football for that matter, should this be something that comes up on our radars as we think about going to support or is it really about the players and the process of how things go?

Have you bought new business cards this time around? I say “this time around” meaning the time after Covid and the time where handing out business cards was something that wasn’t possible to do. Have you gone back and bought some? I’ve recently purchased some last minute business cards for some events I’ve got coming up this week that I’m going to be using to promote my services to some new clients and it made me realise it’s actually quite a while since I had a set of business cards of my own and this is only because I tend to direct people to LinkedIn; I tend to not hand out cards in the way that I did but then I realised that actually quite a lot of people ask if I’ve got a business card and I end up fumbling around in my bag and find I haven’t got any. So hopefully I’ve ordered enough to cover both of the events that I need them for, along with some extras just for a few things that could come up. Now this batch will be gone in a month just because of the nature of what I’ve got planned for them. Do I get another big batch? What do you think about business cards? Are they your thing? How many people are using the electronic e-cards where you just use a QR code or the RFID chip to use that in a different way by just tapping people’s phones and getting that information? I don’t know, let me know your thoughts.

How many venues?

I often get asked about shooting a new venue. I have shot so many different venues over the years and realised the need to have shot a venue before is such a minimal thing. Every venue I have shot will have been different the day before I shot it. The weather will have been different, the light will be different, the furniture may have moved, the room the couple are in maybe different. So with all those differences... how can it be 'the same' venue?

Is the real question how adaptable are you?
