I reserve the right to close my line and turn your little cherubs away if they turn up once the line is closed!!
Having painted flat out for 2 hours today at a free to the public event, I knew the waiting time for my line was roughly 20 minutes, so 20 minutes before my shift was about to end I closed my line, gave the last person in line a little hi-viz which says ”Last in line - sorry" and asked the parent to kindly inform anyone who joined after her that the line was closed!!
ENTER MARGARET... The sort who always tries to get another drink after time has been called, or who only needs a loaf of bread at 1 minute past 4 on a Sunday at Aldi!!
My last in line was doing an amazing job until, along comes Margaret who knows how to get anything she wants... except she's clearly never met me!!
Apparently, according to Margaret who had been at the entire 2 hour event; remembering that the wait time for me was around 20mins... I was the devil incarnate for turning away 2 kids. So much so that she dragged a crying bairn to me screaming at me to look what I've done... Erm...I think you might have told her I would paint her... Shouting LOOK WHAT YOU'VE DONE, doesn't work, mainly because I haven't done anything but also, as I stated, I DON'T CARE!!
As Margaret left she deliberately came past me again stating "I've complained to the management about you" That's nice... I don't work for the venue, and I'd already informed a representative from the venue that you were likely to boot off!!
