As mentioned previously, we haven't got any chocolate stock left (!!?!)What a year. But... for those of you still looking, the best place to pick up our chocolates will be popping into one of our lovely stockists. Many of them will still have our chocolates on the shelves, so please head to these shops for a spot of aka . Local to the North East? Try Yumlush (Gosforth), Turnbull's Northumbrian Food(Alnwick), The Natural Grocer Market & Social (Hexham), Fenwick (Newcastle), Northumbrian Gifts (Cramlington), Tully's of Rothbury Delicatessen (Rothbury), Denes Deli (Jesmond), For the Love of the North (Whitley bay). If I've missed anyone that has our chocolates still on the shelves, please give me a shout!
Wider afield, I think one of the places still with a few of our chocolates left is going to be Burgers Artisan Bakery (Marlow, Buckinghamshire) - the lovely patisserie and bakery that is worth a visit every Christmas.
We're going to be taking a bit of time off with the children this Christmas, so from Michael and myself (Jane) we'd like to thank you all for supporting our little artisan business this year, it means so much to us. xx

Beautiful day for on Armstrong Bridge this morning!!
01/12/2023
Thankyou to the amazing for a fabulous last night. We loved hearing the back story, and tasting all the beautifully roasted nuts and nutbutters.
In some ways, it was the easiest creative session ever - as it would be impossible to make a bad combination with nuts and chocolate! I've learned a bit more about the textures of different nut butters (cashew is the fluffiest) and the different grades of roasting needed before the nuts burn.
I enjoyed teaching my guests how to paint designs to make their own cocoa butter transfers for nutty mediants, and watching the joy as they trialled, tested and created their own praline combinations with milk, white and dark chocolate.
I will probably beg the to come back for another session in 2024, as this one got booked out quick, and I know lots more were interested. So watch this space (or rather, watch our space on Instagram)
We won't be doing a in December, as we've got our chocolate wreath making, and chocolate bauble making sessions coming up. Hope you see you there!!

One of my favourite tasks is adding the final touch to our gift boxes, with thin brown satin ribbons. It's the moment when our chocolate boxes are ready to find a new home. Ready to bring some chocolate happiness to someone somewhere. And I can't help but feel a little bit proud.

Wrapping bars up at the moment, these are the Ginger & Lavender 64% dark chocolate bars. The lavender adds a hint of sunshine to the rich, dark cocoa tones and the warmth of ginger. It's certainly an unusual one - but it works beautifully.
I'll be bringing these, and lots of other bars and chocolate boxes to Armstrong Bridge for Jesmond Food Market tomorrow. Enjoy a stroll out amongst the region's finest local producers. We'll be there from 10am to 3pm.

16 years ago today, Michael and I got back from our honeymoon, and started Davenport's Chocolates. It was a week involving a house move, started renting an industrial unit and starting life out on the adventure of marriage together.
Lots of ups and downs along the way, but I think we can be proud of what we've learned and achieved along the way.
Here's to another year of chocolatiering, and sharing our love of chocolate with you all. Thankyou to every single one of you supporting us and helping achieve our dreams!
Jane & Michael xx

Chocolate and Tea... its a Matcha made in Heaven!
We've got some lovely photos from our Chocollaboration No.5 last night, with the most amazing Love Leaf Tea . Including teacups made of chocolate, filled with tea-infused chocolate mousse. And I think we can say that Amy was the happiest girl in the room, such big smiles from a young chocolate loving young lady. All 15 guests left the room with cups of tea, made of chocolate, as well as having enjoyed lots of tea and chocolate tastings. It was a wonderful evening!
We were rather honoured that Mel from Love Leaf Tea let us loose with her new Matcha Tea powders, because they haven't officially been launched yet! You'll need to keep an eye on their website to get your hands on them. The lovely little tins all contain ground tea, some are matcha blends, but there are so many flavours to choose from. The two that stood out for me were the Mango Matcha, and the Spiced Chai Matcha - but I haven't tried them all yet.
I'll get a full write up of the evening on our blog in the next few days - but if your appetite is whetted, you can book up on our next with The Brownie Bar and The Nut Roaster. Tickets available on Eventbrite, just search for Davenport's Chocolates to find us.

We've just put an extra date in the calendar for our with The Brownie Bar , as September's event is nearly sold out already - so now you can enjoy making conkers out of chocolate brownies on 26th October too.

Have you ever tried these before? We smother the pretzels in milk chocolate, and they are incredibly yummy and more-ish. I'm going to be enrobing a big batch of them tomorrow to bring along to the Local Heroes NE food market in Sunniside on Saturday. Free samples too - so come and say hello if you are in Sunderland looking for a Bank Holiday treat. Available on the website too if you don't live nearby.

. Love them, or hate them, we sell a lot of them! These beauties are fresh off the enrobing belt. It's not often I've finished enrobing chocolates by 9.30am, but since we moved upstairs to our new chocolate kitchen, we are finding the room gets a lot warmer (heat rises, all that science stuff...). So I'd rather come in early and make chocolates while it's 22'C... before the heat of the day. Maybe next summer we'll have saved up for some air con! But for now...we at least have in stock!

Freshly enrobed dark chocolate gingers. A classic I don't think we'll ever stop making, because some of you really really really like them.

Our artisan chocolate studio is a haven of chocolate delight. We concoct and create over 40 varieties of handcrafted chocolates, and the waft of chocolate hits you as soon as you step inside.
We make it our mission to cherish traditional chocolate recipes and techniques, as well as creating brand new flavours. So you will still find a parma violet, coffee cream and a rum & Raisin fudge being made here. But we like to weave our own creativity and passion into each recipe, so our coffee creams are made with Costa Rican beans with a hint of red fruits, freshly filtered through an aeropress.
Our latest chocolates include a range commissioned for the Great Exhibition of the North, being celebrated in Newcastlee and Gateshead during summer 2018. We’ve created flavours that epitomise the region: Brown Ale, Singing Hinny and Earl Grey Tea Truffles. And we find that not many people outside the region even realise that Earl Grey Tea is named after the 2nd Earl of Northumberland...
You can find our chocolates in many fine food or gift shops around the region, and a few further afield. Fenwicks Newcastle are one of our flagships stockists, but you can also find us at The Baltic Gift Shop, Mmm Glug, Woodhorn Museum, Gateshead Library Gift Shop, Corbridge Larder, Beamish Museum, The Castle Keep, Rehills of Jesmond, Howick Hall, Skrumshus of Corbridge, The Small World Cafe (Hexham) amongst others.
We also love opening our doors and sharing the experience of chocolate with you all. We’ve had a lot of visits from school children over the last couple of years for our ‘school tour’ and their excitement is always infectious! And we run all sorts of sessions from fabulously fun henparties to creative and challenging corporate team building events. A recent testimonial from Muckle LLP Law firm:
“I just wanted to drop you a line to say a huge thank you to you, Jenny and Graham for all that you did for us on Tuesday. I hope you could see that everyone had a really great time – and were also learning a lot in the process. It is fair to say that they were all buzzing on the way back – a combination of chocolate and great excitement. The way you handled the whole thing was brilliant and the product is superb! Anyway, you could not possibly have done more to make the event a success. Thank you ever so much.”
So whether its a special birthday party, a golf club social, or an event to impress clients from overseas.... do get in touch and we can create a bespoke session for you. And do keep an eye on our Facebook events page, and you could be joining us for one of our public workshops too.
We hope you will enjoy your Davenport’s Chocolates - from a gift box, or from a visit to our factory. As a family business, your custom and support is invaluable, thank you for keeping us going on our chocolate journey!
best wishes,
Jane & Michael Williams.
