The problem with loving today’s digital creative technologies, is that every day is a shinny new object day.
You never finish learning, and the new tools, features and software applications that exist are constantly triggering a girls next big idea.
It’s hard to focus and commit to one path as there are so many paths you can take, and so many aspects of creative technologies that you like working in.
It’s why I now refer to myself as a multidisciplinary creative designer.
It’s taken me over 25 years (off and on) freelance working for others and lots of soul searching, to finally decide and “know” what it is I want to do when I grow up!
I’ve always loved creating and building digital online creative solutions, from website design and development to video editing, and running digital salesfunnels for clients.
But now, I only want to do it for myself, as in my own business, and it’s wants and needs.
Selfish? … maybe.
But trying to juggle the many aspects of work, life, family and clients just resulted in burnout and my freelance lifestyle was leading me to lose my passion. So, I attempted to jump ship completely (possible mid-life crisis?) into a different industry and passion of mine, but no matter what direction I try to head in, I always get drawn back to my digital creative roots.
So how then do I earn a living?
Well, here’s the magic.
I’m going to literally brain-dump my entire “how-to” knowledge into a YouTube Channel then productise other aspects of my skill set.
YouTube will eventually allow me to monetise it, but my main focus is an outlet to share my knowledge, empower other solopreneurs whilst also using all aspects of my skills and hard fought for expertise from over the years in the production of the video’s, marketing my channel, building my audience, flowing everything into a sales funnel whereby, at some point in the near distant future, I will have a program that takes that free support to another level.
Working this way keeps me mentally fulfilled in ticking my minds creative check box and ensures that when I do want to do something else, I’ve a fan base, audience, tribe by which to then work with.
Having said all this, I am half way through building my 2d Point and Click Puzzle Adventure Mobile App Game, which I hope to launch later this year, and with my girls passion for cartoon drawing I hope to expand the reaches of my Whiteboard Animation Business in due course as well.
So, I’ve not completely dampened my multi-business entrepreneurial skill set, just fine tuning it a little to the focus is on my business and not drain myself working all hours building others dreams.
2020 is therefore all about sharing the knowledge.
