Dreaming of leaving the 9-5 for flower farming? 🌸
It’s a big decision, but with the right approach, you can transition gradually and make it work for you. I’m 15 years in now and a multi 6-figure flower farmer, so it’s definitely possible!
Here are 5 tips to help you make the switch gradually:
1️⃣ Start small – Use your garden or allotment to grow a few flowers and learn the ropes.
2️⃣ Learn from the pros – While you’re still working, take workshops, ask questions, and soak up all the knowledge you can.
3️⃣ Test the market – Sell at markets or to friends to see what works before scaling up.
4️⃣ Save & plan – Use your current job to build a financial cushion and invest in the basics.
5️⃣ Take it slow – Go part-time or dedicate weekends to growing. A gradual shift keeps things stress-free.

2024: A Year I’ll Never Forget 💔🌈
Let me be real with you—I can’t sugarcoat it. This year was the hardest of my life:
🚑 Started with a bang, recovering from a major knee operation that put me in intensive care for 4 days and in the hospital for 2 weeks.
🎗️ In February, I was diagnosed with breast cancer.
✂️ Surgery in March, followed by 8 rounds of brutal chemo.
🤒 Caught Covid and ended up in hospital for 5 days.
🌹 My incredible mother-in-law passed away at 96.
❤️🩹 My husband had surgery, suffered a pulmonary embolism, and spent 2 weeks in hospital—all while I was on chemo.
🌟 Rounded it off with 15 rounds of radiotherapy.
I’m not sharing this for sympathy, but to show the full picture. Because even in the darkest of times, there was light 🌞:
🌷 My business soared to its best year ever, and my team proved they’re the best in the world.
👫 Friends and family showed up in incredible ways—packing tulips, wreath boxes, and surprising me with thoughtful gifts.
🏝️ We made unforgettable memories in the Maldives—just 2 days after my diagnosis and before surgery. Those moments will stay with me forever.
🌷 A trip to Holland with Tom brought so much laughter my sides hurt.
🚴♀️ I cycled London by night, raising a record amount for breast cancer—thanks to all of YOU who supported me.
🍷 We even had a lovely UK family holiday with good food, wine, and even better company.
👩👧👧 My girls and husband stepped up in ways I can’t even begin to describe.
🎉 And to top it off, I hit 200k followers on Instagram this year. Your support, kind messages, and encouragement have meant the world to me. Thank you 🙏❤️.
Now that treatment is finally over, I’m walking into 2025 with excitement and confidence.
2024 changed me. It was painful, humbling, and transformative. But I’ve come through stronger and more grateful than ever.

The hardest thing about being a flower farmer? 🌿👇
As a flower farmer, the weather and conditions often feel completely out of my control—and let’s face it, that can be scary! But while I can’t stop the rain, snow or wind, there’s so much I can do to work with nature rather than fight against it. 🌦️
From growing under tunnels to create a stable microclimate, to diversifying planting locations across the farm, to using biological pest control that keeps things in balance, every decision helps tip the scales in our favour. It’s about resilience, adaptability, and leaning into the beauty of working alongside nature—even when it’s unpredictable. 🌸🌿
That’s one big lesson I’ve learned over the years as a flower farmer for sure, and now it massively helps us when it comes to planning the year ahead!
