Really disappointed to see this damage to the park this morning, I wonder if those that did the damage will be brave enough to own up and help us fix it?

I doubt it, but would welcome any information on who did this.

I hope everyone has been enjoying the recent dry spell and getting a good skate up at the park. We've had messages regarding some of the teenage denizens of the park taking things a bit far with use of performance degrading substances and general attitude.

If this continues we will have to involve the authorities to intervene.

Respect the park.

Respect the residents.

Respect each other.

34th Fife Scout Group Public

Who would all be keen to help this event happen? I'm thinking nighttime skate with fireworks and bonfire would make for some amazing photos!

Newport Bonfire Night 2016 Cancelled.

Newport Scouts are sad to announce that the annual Bonfire & Fireworks night has been cancelled for 2016.

This has been an annual partnership with the Newport Amateur Football Club for many years but we are unable to reach agreement on running the event this year.

Rising costs, falling ticket sales, concerns over potential liability for damage to the sports fields at Waterstone Crook, and a spot of pre-bonfire vandalism last year all led to this decision.

We will not give up hope that the event might be resurrected in future years but a number of factors need to be addressed before this can be considered.

A big consideration is the need for a solid access route to build a bonfire without causing damage to the pitches or skatepark.

Get your best suit / kilt / giant chicken costume looked out for our Fancy Dress Fun Day on the 20th of August from 13:00.

Prizes (including cake) for best costume and best trick.

Bring BBQs (just keep them off the grass!)

We're going to be keeping this low key so no entry lists, no PA, just good fun.

Anyone recognise this board? Left out side my house on Friday night. Brought it inside out of the rain.

Hi everyone, with the light nights here we know everyone will be tempted to skate all night.

Please consider the people that live around the park and come and go quietly, especially around the slab paths and car park.

There have been noise complaints about people skating on the paths, so skate the park but not the slab paths.

Nike SB Chronicles, Vol. 3 | Lance Mountain

Spring time is coming, I hope everyone is as excited as we are to get skating the park!

We're wanting to run some informal skateboarding tuition in the spring to try and get everyone up to speed on how to use the park safely and get the most out of it.

If you or your kids would be interested in some pointers then reply to this message and we'll try to organise some dates. I have to emphasise this will be informal....

Remember you're never to old to skate. Lance is 51 and he's still shredding harder than guys half his age!
