Here’s our 10 reasons why we think our parties are stress free and perfect for young children:

- You don’t need to do any prep on the build up to the party, we will have the entertainment covered for the whole duration of the party.

- Each Pop Up Play Village party is unique as the birthday child and their family can pick out the play areas that they would like. This is such a special thing to do and it builds up excitement for the party.

- Our village is flexible to suit the space which means we can run big or small parties in a large or a smaller space, in a venue or even in your house. The choice is yours to make!

- On the day of the party, there is no setting up required when you book a party with us. We do all the setting up of the entertainment so that you can enjoy getting ready for the party with your little one.

- On arrival at a Pop Up Play Village party, we find that the children settle quickly into enjoying the party. Sometimes parties can be daunting for little ones but we find that because our village is child led exploratory play, they get stuck in playing straight away.

- Our parties are brilliant for mixed ages which is great as there are often a variety of ages attending a party and it enables all children to have a great time together.

- We often get complimented by guests that our parties are calm and relaxed which tends to mean the children are happy and engrossed in their play. Our village is fun, engaging and can entertain children for hours as the children let their imaginations run wild.

- At our parties, it is not just about the children, we want the adults attending to have a great time too. Whilst the children are engrossed in their play, adults can enjoy the occasion and socialise with friends and family.

- At the end of a party, the little ones are usually tired and the last thing you want to do is to spend ages tidying up. Our village is mess free and we tidy and pack it all up.

- After the party is over, you will have the special memories captured through the party photos that we have taken for you. We love capturing these special moments!

We absolutely love working in schools and early years settings! The excitement and joy that children get as they are learning through role play is incredible to be a part of. The learning that is taking place is so powerful as the children are in the driving seat to their learning and their learning has a real purpose to them.
We have EYFS, KS1 and KS2 curriculum planning that ties in beautifully with our role play areas to offer a high quality, educational role play experience that supports the learning that a group of children are currently covering in school. It is an amazing and unique way for children to learn.
Would you like to find out more about what we can offer in schools and early years settings? Do just send us a message, we would love to tell you more!

In our village, we have big play spaces for a very important reason, so that families and friends can play together!

With the design of Pop Up Play Village being open plan, we have been able to create wonderful, big play spaces. Not only are they big, but they are also equipped with so many resources so that children can play alongside and with each other.

There's nothing better than seeing a group of several families playing and socialising together in just one of our play areas or on a school visit seeing a big group of children all playing together in the same space. This makes it such a sociable place to come and play and encourages the development of personal, social and emotional skills as well as supporting communication and language development.

We absolutely love our village and the opportunities that it provides for families! 🥰

What makes a fun and inspirational play experience for your child?

Every child is unique each with their own interests, what one child might find a fun and inspirational play experience may be different to that of another. That is why child led play is so important. Through child led play, each child is in the driving seat. They can lead their own learning and take their play into an experience that is fun for them and inspires them to want to play more.

Here at Pop Up Play Village, we have created an open plan, child led role play experience where the children can do just this, they can lead their own learning in a fun, play based environment. We set up the play areas before our visitors arrive never knowing in what direction the children are going to use our play areas to inspire their play. For example, one child may use our construction site to build a house whilst another may decide to use the bricks in the construction to create shapes. There are no set ways to play at Pop Up Play Village and no play session is ever the same.

As children start to play in our village, their play does often change direction depending on what others are doing around them. Children are influenced by how other children play in our village. This is such a great opportunity for children to learn from each other and to develop their social skills. How children are playing in our play areas inspires those around them to try new ideas and to experiment in new ways that they may not have thought of before. The children really do own the play space together creating a fun, inspiring and sociable place to play.

When children play, they learn about themselves and their world in a safe environment. Through Pop Up Play Village we are able to provide an immersive experience for the children which allows them to explore new things while also developing social skills by engaging with others around different topics of interest. Play is such a powerful way for children to learn.

Take a look at our blog all about the importance of child led play written by our franchisor Becky:

Child led play is when children choose how they play, what they play with and the play can go in any direction that the child chooses. Before I launched Pop Up Play Village when I was an Early Years teacher, time for child led play was such an important part of the daily school day. It enabled the children to practise and use the skills that they had been learning at their own pace, in their own way and for a purpose. Child led play is such a powerful way to learn and grow as it puts children right in the driving seat encouraging children to learn independently as well as having support and guidance from others around them.

When Pop Up Play Village was designed back in 2016, it was designed to be completely child led. As soon as our little visitors arrive, they have the whole time to explore our role play village in any way that they choose. Our set up is purposefully open plan without any backdrops or barriers so that grown ups can see their children at all times no matter where they are in the room but also to enable children to explore the village as they wish. By being open plan, children can see all of the play areas available to explore and use their imaginations to make connections with one play area to another. For example, sometimes the construction site moves location because a new building site is taking place in a different part of the room, the bricks are transported to the new site and the building commences! Another example is when the supermarket food is taken over to the hospital to feed the poorly patients and help them to get better. By the end of a role play class, our village can look very different to how it was set up to start with and it just shows that the children have completely owned their play time and explored our village in a way that benefits and supports their development.

Through child led play, children can develop a sense of who they are in a safe and secure environment where they can express their thoughts and feelings. This brings a high level of learning as the learning is purposeful and relevant for the child.

This was written by our franchisor, Becky:
Let’s put the spotlight on our wedding service today and how it all came about! Just in the same way that Pop Up Play Village was created, our wedding service came about because I was attending a wedding with my own children and I found it very stressful! I love weddings but attending them with young children is so hard when the children have to be quiet at certain times of the day such as through the wedding speeches and there isn’t much for them to do to keep them entertained throughout the whole day. I remember taking a giant bag with me to one wedding full of toys, clothes, food just in case I should need them which I did. I was running classes and birthday parties at the time and I remember thinking that we could fill another gap in the market by providing entertainment for the little guests at weddings and take away the stress that parents go through when they bring children along to weddings. Weddings are great with children attending, I had 16 children attending my own wedding, I loved it and I know if I had the option to provide entertainment for them, I would have done.

That’s how our wedding service was initially started, now we offer many different packages and options to choose from so that the entertainment we provide is tailored to each and every wedding. Every wedding is special and unique and so is the entertainment that we provide.

If you know someone or if you are getting married soon, do get in contact with us for some further information, we would love to make the special day that extra bit special.

Our children’s mental health is a priority. As parents and carers, we strive to have happy and healthy children and support them in any way we can. I don’t know about you but with so much going on in our children’s lives, it is often hard to know how best to support them especially when we aren’t with them all of the time and don’t always know what situations they have faced each day. My children are 8 and 10 years old now and this is what I particularly find difficult. They spend so much time at school and when they come home and they haven’t had a particularly good day or they are quiet about their day, it is sometimes hard to work through it with them and know how best to support them.

No child is the same so there will never be a strategy or best way to offer support. Our children also develop and change so much whilst they grow up so ways of supporting your child will inevitably change over time.

I think a key priority is talking with our children. Talking through each day and offering guidance where we can. Consider the best time to talk about their day, for example a special time at night time before they go to bed reflecting on the greatest parts about their day and then something that wasn’t so great. Our children are in the driving seat to their mental well being but we can be there on the side lines cheering them on and boosting their confidence as much as possible. Talking is so important and the power of speech goes a very long way.

If you have a child who struggles to get out their words or talk about their day then the thumbs up, thumbs down strategy might work well. You ask your child questions which they can answer with thumbs up or thumbs down. Start the questions off very light and simple. Did you enjoy our journey into school today? Did you eat a nice lunch today? Then if you suspect something you could ask was everyone nice to you today? They can simply answer with thumbs up or thumbs down.

I came across this quote from Charlie Mackesy and absolutely love it:

‘Tears fall for a reason and they are your strength, not weakness’ - Charlie Mackesy

Children learning about different emotions, expressing emotions and learning strategies to deal with different emotions is so important as they grow and fundamental in order to manage their mental health.

I just want to conclude by saying that as parents, supporting our children’s mental health is tough and there is no one solution. All we can do is be there to support and guide our children and do the best we can. If you need someone to talk to, supporting each other in our journey as parents is important too. You can reach out to any of our Pop Up Play Village team, we would be more than happy to listen.

Here at Pop Up Play Village, we have six core values that underpin everything that we do. They are so important to us to ensure that all of our visitors both adults and children have a great time and to ensure that our village is suitable and beneficial for all of our little visitors. Here they are:

- Fuel Imaginations
- Safe and Secure
- High Quality Play Areas
- Fun Play Spaces
- Inspire Learning
- Nurture and Care

To find out more about how our village incorporates these values, do take a read of our blogs all about them. Our franchisor Becky has written a blog about each individual value here: https://buff.ly/3IBsY4b
