Cornwall Council is asking residents to sort their stuff before they visit the Household Waste and Recycling Centres (HWRCs) and make sure they recycle as much as possible. People are being asked to get things Sorted! and separate their unwanted items into different materials, such as wood, metals,....

My thoughts exactly 😢

🗣🗣🗣 We need to talk about balloon arches.
Balloon arches are JUST INFLATED LITTER. You do not need them. Your party can look beautiful, even spectacular, without hundreds of bags of air.
Anyone who tells you natural latex degrades is lying to you (well it does. But it takes years and needs very exact conditions). Also latex is banned from medical products due to the large number of anaphylactic reactions so do we really want loads and loads of it at a party?
The reality is most balloons are not pure latex anyway. Please reconsider if you are thinking of having balloon arches. They really are so wasteful, unnecessary and excessive. This world needs a lot less balloons. You can achieve a beautiful party with something else.

PLASTIC? 🤔
Many of the party kits in our network use plastic tableware.
It’s light, durable, affordable and colourful. 🌈
It is designed to be used again and again (and again!) ♻️
Some kits contain preloved items, giving plastic items a second life. 💚
Yes, it could be better. Most is still made from fossil fuels and could still one day become plastic pollution.
But every time a party kit is used it helps to save thousands of non-recyclable items from landfill.
We believe that any reusable item is better than the alternative single-use, and we‘re doing our best to consider what happens to items at end-of-life.

Bill proposes ban on plastic waste exports

Yes, start from the top and get the producers to change their ways!!
We are becoming more conscious and making changes as so should they.
Shipping it off to other countries is just awful 😭

Plastic waste exports to developing countries to be banned or restricted under new law.
