Did you know Killeavy Castle Estate has ties with Australia’s biggest horse race?

On behalf of Killeavy Castle Estate, we wish best of luck to Patrick Boyle (cousin to Killeavy Castle Estate Owner Mick Boyle), as they take to the track to race ‘OneSmoothOperator’ in the Lexus Melbourne Cup 🏇

Ahead of the race, Mick says: “Our fathers, Michael and Denis Boyle, both grew up on the Low Road in Meigh. We just know our grandfather, Dinny Boyle, would be dancing a little jig at the thought of his descendants running a horse in such a big race on the other side of the world.”

We're bringing the energy of the Melbourne Cup to Killeavy Castle Estate. Book a table in Calliagh Berra Bistro and Bar, between 12 - 3pm tomorrow and receive a complimentary glass of prosecco. A re-run of the race will play at 1pm, 2pm and 3pm.

📣 IMPORTANT UPDATE

Today, between the hours of 11am - 3pm, Killeavy Castle Estate will experience a necessary power outage to switch over to solar panel energy.

The switch will significantly reduce our electrical needs across the Estate and is another major step in our sustainability journey. 🌱☀️

During this time, we will temporarily have no access to our reservation systems so we are unable to take check ins and orders in the spa, bar or restaurant.

If you are staying with us today, you should have since received a call or e-mail in advance of your stay.

On the 14th November, we're opening our doors to aspiring Chefs who want to gain first hand experience and insight into the hospitality industry.

Throughout your day at Killeavy Castle Estate you will tour our three working kitchens, visit our butchery and vegetable preparation room where our Executive Chef will explain more about our farm to fork ethos and how we fire up innovation in the kitchen.

🍽️Grilled fillet of cod with chorizo and sweetcorn risotto, apple and garlic dressing
🍽️Carrot and tonka bean soup with Estate honey crème fraiche
🍽️Young buck blue cheese parfait with fermented blackcurrants, beetroot, focaccia
🍽️Roast loin of Killeavy cheviot lamb with braised fennel, confit tomato, chard, mustard jus
🍽️Crushed cauliflower crumble with pickled vegetables, spinach purée
🍽️Rhubarb crumble with bitter apple sorbet, calvados custard
