Today @NewryBid was out and about in the Sugar Island area catching up with businesses impacted by last year’s flooding. The area was busy and vibrant with a sense of optimism for brighter days ahead. ☺️ 🛍️ ☕️ 💻 🎉
It has been a challenging 2023 for business, but in Newry city centre we are resilient and resourceful. We are looking forward to a successful 2024, with lots more activities, interventions and events to support our members.
Thank you all and we look forward to a happy, peaceful and prosperous new year.

💦💦Today, thankfully the water has subsided in Newry🙏🏻🙏🏻 and the vast majority of the city centre is trading as normal. Please shop local, if you can. 🏬 🛒 🛍 ❤️
For the businesses impacted, the clean up operation has now begun. The BID team is on the ground supporting this with its clean team who are power washing and cleaning down affected areas. We also have newly purchased water vacuums and skips for those premises that need them. ☹️❤️
❌We urge all businesses to take photos and video clips as well as documenting the clean up operation for potential loss assessors. ❌
Don’t forget we are hosting an urgent meeting for BID members in relation to the lobby for compensation tonight in the Canal Court Hotel & Spa at 7pm.
Please DM us to register to attend or complete the form on the pinned post.
Again if you are a BID member (or want to join) please contact us and we will assist in any way we can.
