For a taste of what’s coming at WORLD WHISKY CLUB 2024, join us at our Christmas Special tasting event at The Cridford Inn where we will be exploring six distinct whiskies from around the world.

From Japanese whisky matured in Mizunara oak to tropical Indian single malt and whisky from Scotland, Ireland, America and Taiwan, explore the amazing diversity in world whisky alongside premium food pairings specially created by the Cridford’s head chef.

The past four months have flown by. We have come together, laughed and indulged in single malt Scotch. Exactly what we set out to do! We've had such fun, and have a special thank you to all our Whisky Club members who have joined us every month in our journey exploring single malt Scotch whisky.

We'd like to take this chance to wish you and your families a very happy Christmas and New Year, and to remind you of our Burns Night Special, the Whisky Club finale and celebration including six premium single malts, a traditional Burns Night Supper, a collection of Burns’ poetry and our raffle prize giveaway. We had such a great time at our last Whisky Club tasting. It was so much fun that we forgot to take any pictures! Thank you all that came and explored the fascinating diversity created during distillation with us. We find distillation one of the most fascinating aspects of whisky production. The size and shape the still, length of copper contact and type of condensation all can have a dramatic affect on the final flavour and feel of Scotch whisky.

In our third tasting in this series (Thursday 3rd November 7pm) we will explore six diverse single malts all representing different distillation techniques. When tasting them side by side in a blind tasting, can we identify these differences?

From Macallan’s curiously small stills and oilier body, to Glenmorangie’s light and soft spirit produced through a high degree of reflux in their tall-necked stills, we can explore the diversity created during distillation and find the style and body of whisky that suits our palate.

We had a great time at our last Whisky Club tasting event at The Cridford Inn! We had some peat monsters to explore and we all came back with different favourites 🥃

We used our blind tasting challenge to explore the influence peat has on Scotch whisky, with six unique single malt whiskies representing a varied selection of peated and unpeated single malts.
