Easily 10 yrs ago Luke (Carson) who trains Rhys was in JF Bridal getting fitted for a suit and he told me about Rhys the gymnast he had great hopes for. I’ve watched their progress ever since and even after Tokyo to just keep believing that you were destined for greatness is inspirational. The Norn Iron motto “Dare to Dream” It is incredible what our Olympic heroes have achieved, many congratulations. I’ll be there this afternoon to show how proud I am. I hope the future youth will be inspired to go for 🥇. 4.30pm in Conway Square

Late Blossom, sure its better late than never, but one thing about bridal you have got to be ready on time. This time of year weddings, flowers and Chelsea Flower Show is always in my mind. Just like the exhibitors we want perfection on the day. I hope the girls from Helensbay and anyone else visiting from NI are enjoying the show, I may just sew my flowers.

"Support" , we all need to support each other to help make life easier. In my job I do my best to help make girls feel good and confident in the outfits I make them. Often the foundation is the most important thing. I'm sitting looking at this corset on my tailors dummy thinking about the people effected by the fire in Conway Square this morning! I could see and smell the effects of the fire in Church Street I can't even begin to imagine how any one copes when their business is destroyed by fire. The girls in Cordiners shoe shop were always so lovely when I went into their shop.
On this day of international women's day I spare a thought for everyone out there that has horrific challenges and I hope I can help any women in their times of distress.

Today I noticed mention the trend so I thought I must share this idea to see if it's of interest to you. I can do other colours as you will see from the information provided on etsy. However you have to think of the size that you will need to suit your cake. For example the circumference of the cake, the size of the bow and the length of the tails. DM me if you need help.

Ferns a symbol of New beginnings, new life I very much hope we can all look forward to a Healthy and Happy New Year in 2024.
This week I had my first wedding of the year and my bride wore one of my latest embroidered veils. The embroidery on her dress and veil represented both her new husband and her two cultures and their flora and fauna.
Ferns featured as I walk past a fern everyday as I enter my house, I never fail to be inspired by what’s obvious to me. Did you know in the folklore and traditions of the Irish hedgerow fern symbolises the concept of eternity. It is believed that if you are giving someone a fern as a gift, you are giving them the hope that they will have confidence, shelters, wealth and happiness. So a great plant to give to someone or to have embroidered on your veil. Often called Living Lace in the Victorian era the fern embodied trustworthiness and humility. There are 100’s of different species, in Japan they exemplify family and hope for the future. With all that’s happening in Japan and around the world we could do with lots of Hope for the future.

Spring has sprung today, the pheasant was ip at the crack of dawn! The sun is out, the daffodils are opening my apple trees are bursting in bud, the birds are chirping and I are busy getting on with all the things I have to do for my weddings, a beautiful day with the hope of more to come. Enjoy 😉

Getting to know a new member of staff today. Haven't got a name for her yet, any thoughts? She has a good head, usual with my other staff dummies, she's tall, slim and moves around very quickly. Think I might call her Tinkerbell, any better suggestions?

Part of my days work, doing some embroidery work for a brides dress and veil.Hiw lucky am I to be doing a job I love for clients I love. Yes somedays I get down but thankfully there's usually one of you to pick me up and raise my moral. This time it was one of my brides from Australia, miles away but felt like she was right beside me. She was reminiscing and recalling memories with her Granny and then she described me as her fairy god mother! I just hope my magic wand keeps working for a while longer. If Vera Wang is still going at 74yrs old there's a few more years of making brides happy left in me Enjoy planning your wedding 🍀

I hope Spring has finally sprung and we can start to enjoy the joys of the season. For me it symbolises new beginnings, exciting times ahead, nature bursting into life and my brides getting ready for their weddings. After seeing Raye's shell inspired dress last night I thought I would show you one on my shell embroidered bodices made in silk duchess satin as part of an idea for a bride. It was great to get a day out of the studio and meet newly engaged couples planning their weddings.
