Parking available. Dogs must be kept under control and on leads at all times.
No alcoholic drinks to be brought on site. No glass to be brought on site. Security will be checking on arrival, and will confisgate any contraband.
A fully licensed well stocked bar is available, as well as eateries and stalls.

North Newton's very own Wendy Fincher will be opening the event with a selection of covers from across the decades...a great start to the day😀

Brassive Attack take to the stage and bring you a host of rock, pop and covers with horns!

North Newton's very own Big Mac will then get the party started with a range of dance tunes from across the decades...disco, funk, house, dance, D&B...a little bit of everything to get you on your feet!

Next, recently formed Whiskey Embers will be entertaining you with a range of tunes to get you up and rockin'! Sam, their lead singer, also lives in the village. Check their new single here Whisky Embers

In September 2021 we told you The Newt would not be returning in 2022 in it’s previous form. We told you….”We are now building toward the staging of a very different event in 2022, something on a much smaller scale and intended to be for the benefit of North Newton and the surrounding communities.

Well….guess what? We’re doing exactly that!

This Saturday, 9th July, in Moon Lane, North Newton, we are holding a much smaller (limited numbers), family orientated, one day festival….12 noon - midnight (no camping).

There is entertainment for all the family …. there are bouncy castles, Transformers, glitter faces, a sweet stall, a mini football pitch….and there’s a marketplace full of locally produced goods, a dog show and lots more….a real family day.
We have a small bar, we have a café, we have musical entertainment throughout the afternoon, including an Open Mic session, and we have bands and DJs throughout the evening….a real mix of music across the decades, so something for everyone.

Bring your own picnic in the afternoon, then enjoy a hog roast or Fish & Chips in the evening.

Since our last festival in 2019, we have had the opportunity to reflect on the future of the Newt Beer and Music Festival. Over the past 27 years, the event has brought great pleasure to many thousands of people and has been able to provide much needed financial support to local groups and organisations. We are immensely proud of the event and always grateful for the support shown by local people and groups. However, with each year that passed, the challenge of staging a viable event had become increasingly difficult and we faced the real prospect of running the festival at a significant financial loss.

Over the past 9 months, the organising committee have taken time to consider the future of the festival and we have concluded that it is time to move in a new direction. We are now building toward the staging of a very different event in 2022, something on a much smaller scale and intended to be for the benefit of North Newton and the surrounding communities.

2021 FESTIVAL ANNOUNCEMENT

The Newt Music, Beer & Cider Festival organising committee have decided that there will not be a festival in 2021. Although we hope that restrictions will have eased by July, the lasting impact of the pandemic presents too many challenges for us to overcome this year. We will update you with news of our plans for the future, later in 2021.
