As we have previously communicated, we have been running Kettering Conference Centre at a loss for a number of years. The sharp increase in energy and operating costs have made this unsustainable, therefore Kettering conference centre will not reopen and will close on 3 July as planned.

We are pleased to confirm the Balance Health Club and Arena Sports Centre, located on the same site, will be remaining open, following the announcement that Phoenix Leisure Management will be taking over operations from 4 September 2023.

We have heard the concerns raised by the local community about the closure of Kettering Conference Centre which includes The Lighthouse Theatre, Balance Health Club and Arena Leisure Centre. We recognise that the site and in particular the theatre and the gym are important to the community. To support our employees and give partners more time to find alternative solutions, we have agreed with the landlord an extension to our tenancy until Monday 3 July 2023. We will continue to operate the site and keep some of the facilities open until this date. As we are a tenant, going forward it is for the Landlord and the Council to decide on the future of the site or whether alternative options can be found.

As we previously stated, it has been a very difficult decision to close Kettering Conference Centre and not one we have taken lightly. We can confirm that all the businesses within the venue have been loss making for a number of years and even with the Council grant, it is no longer sustainable for us to operate. We have invested a significant amount of money into the facilities and our teams have worked hard to support all the businesses on the site.

Our teams will continue to work to process refunds for events, performances and membership in anticipation of the closure on the 3 July 2023. As this decision has recently been reached, The Lighthouse Theatre will confirm in the coming days if any shows in June will be reinstated.

We would like to thank the professionalism of our employees over recent days who are continuing to work to keep the site open and support the local community.

Unfortunately, Kettering Conference Centre will be closing on Wednesday 31st May 2023. We have explored all possible alternatives and despite our best efforts to rebuild post pandemic, due to the ongoing challenging operating environment we are unable to continue to operate.

We have not taken this decision lightly and our number one priority is to support our customers accordingly and we are working hard to find alternative arrangements for any current bookings. Everybody with a booking post 31st May 2023 will receive a full refund for monies paid. If you have not heard from our team by 31st May 2023, then please email us at: [email protected]

Our Lighthouse Theatre celebrations were such a success that they've decided to put on some further tours and entertainment this evening, and keep the exhibition in place until Thursday!

Did you know that we're part of who have collaborated with Lime Venue Portfolio, both part of Compass Group, to launch a new and innovative demonstrator farm which will change the way event food is sourced and managed; The Biohub at Ings Farm. The launch is the result of a collaboration between the businesses sister company Levy UK + Ireland, the brand’s food partner, RegenFarmCo, Yorkshire Water, and Quorn Professionals and is designed to help educate current and future generations of chefs and farmers on sustainable farming practices.

This is one of our most popular spaces, the Portland suite. The Portland is 165m2 and can accommodate up to 175 in a theatre style layout, and 64 in a cabaret layout. We even did a small private awards dinner in here recently!

This is our Fair Isle suite, it's our largest conference room and can accommodate up to 250 in a cabaret layout, and up to 500 in a theatre style layout. It's also a great space for private dinners and parties as has it's own built-in wooden dancefloor and a bar within the room.
