This Friday (9th August) we are in the big function room at Davenham Royal British Legion for a Special Guest Night! Our guest will be Graham Bellinger and supporting him will be Nigel Hammill and Bridget Taylor.
Graham has been performing at folk clubs and festivals for nearly half a century. He has performed in community events, socials and parties and on local radio. He has played more pub gigs than he cares to remember and has composed and performed music for dramatic productions. Graham now performs mainly solo after many years as leader of the Deportees which evolved from the acoustic rock and roll band Root Chords. He is also a member of traditional singer Roy Clinging’s band, Steerage Class and part of an occasional musical partnership with Tom Doughty. This variety and range illustrates Graham's eclectic and open minded approach to repertoire and performance.

Supporting Graham will be Nigel Hammill and Bridget Taylor stalwarts of the Leather’s Smithy Singaround near Macclesfield who will start the evening. Nigel plays Guitar and Bridget plays Lowland Smallpipes. Tickets are available via www.danarts.org.uk (no booking fee and a reserved seat!!) and are priced at £8 or £6 for club members. 5. Insect repellent?
If the weather takes a turn for the worse we have arranged to use the Ranger's cabin so we can keep dry!!
Last Week’s lyrics challenge was Johnny Todd! Dave Knibb was first in with the answer! Congratulations Dave!!
Have a go at this week's challenge!! It is a Liverpool classic:-
" Next day I woke in bed, with a sore and aching head,
No shoes, or shirt, or trousers could I find.
I asked her where they were, and she answered, "My dear sir,
They're down in Kelly's knock-shop, number nine."..."
