Don’t forget the pollinators 🐝🦋
Photos again from my visit to The old vineyard.
When selecting any plant for your garden consider the pollinators, we love the big blousy blooms with compact petals but think how easy it is for our insects to get to the central parts of a flower.

Insects get various things from plants like nectar, pollen, and from leaves. Nectar is a sugary liquid that insects like bees and butterflies collect for food, while pollen is a source of protein for some insects.

So lucky to visit The Old Vineyard to see their amazing display of Dahlias.
Dahlias are fantastic as cut flowers, When cutting dahlias for arrangements, it's best to do so early in the morning when the flowers are the most hydrated. Use a sharp, clean knife or shears to make a diagonal cut on the stem and immediately place the stems in water. Remove any leaves that will be below the water line in your vase to prevent bacterial growth. Changing the water every couple of days and re-trimming the stems can help extend the vase life of your dahlia arrangements. Enjoy the beauty of dahlias both in your garden and in stunning floral displays!
