Sometimes it’s really difficult to plan a goodbye after a death. Not always because of the devastation of loss, but sometimes because the goodbye is less emotional, more of a ‘duty call’. Mourners can feel guilty if they do not have that rush of emotion, but actually it’s ok to simply do the ‘right thing’. It still shows respect to the deceased, and it still allows those involved to say goodbye in their own way. Don’t look back, just give each other a hug and move forward with pride. 🖤

My goodness me. What an incredible send off at Waveney Memorial Park and Crematirium yesterday, for a veteran gentleman from 29 Commando Royal Artillery. A guard of honour and a standard bearer; the Last Post and Reveille. What a fantastic goodbye for Smudge- such respect and so very well-deserved. What an honour.
