PLANTS BY POST! … This week our MOST WANTED has been these fabulous STAPELIA LEENDERTZIAE!
We have posted lots of these little beauties out to green fingered plant loving folks all over the country lately.

Also known as a Zulu Plant, Toad Plant, Starfish Cactus, Carrion Flower … This is an Indoor house plant, Succulent.
Looks like a cactus - currently measure approx 8 to 11cm from the top of the pot.
Pot measures 7cm tall x 8.5cm diameter.
Finger like throngs with spikes - spikes are NOT sharp.
Just like a Cactus, likes bright light and low humidity.
Although the Stapelia stores water to survive when the climate gets hotter, they still like to be watered, often requiring more moisture than a cactus,
but then the soil must be left to dry out in between watering … Consistent moisture can lead to root.
They can even produce ornamental starfish shaped flowers which can have a pungent scent.
If you are succulent lover this plant is a great addition to your collection.

Beautiful variegated heart shaped leaves on delicate trailing tendrils
Likes bright light but keep us out of direct sunshine
Water regularly in spring and summer but make sure you allow the soil to completely dry out between waterings
Water less in winter and don’t let it sit in water as the roots may rot

TOO EARLY I KNOW BUT …
When the opportunity cropped up to by my first PEONIES of the year this week I just couldn’t resist … Something about them just reaffirms my LOVE of ALL FLOWERS … The individual beauty of every bloom … The ever changing shapes and textures of the petals … The nuances in their colour pallet ❤️
Sometimes as a busy florist I don’t get the chance to really stop, look and appreciate the beauty I am so fortunate to handle every day ❤️
