Do you know where the leap year proposal tradition originates from? 💍

Dating back to 5th Century Ireland where Saint Bridget complained that it took too long for men to propose. So, Saint Patrick allowed women to propose on 29th February - once every 4 years. How generous 🤭

But is this just an outdated tradition or a simple 'if you want the job doing, do it yourself' scenario?

So having discussed what was the most stressful part of planning a wedding, this week I thought I'd ask what is the BEST part of planning a wedding?

1. Is it the dress shopping? 👗👰
Visiting a number of beautiful bridal boutiques with racks full of amazing gowns to try on. Is this your idea of heaven or hell?
I love that some bridal stores are now offering a special package for private hire with prosecco, cocktails and nibbles for you and your entourage whilst you find the perfect dress. 🥂

2. Is it cake and/or menu tasting? 🍲
Surely taste testing a multitude of delicious food is the best part of planning a wedding. What is not to love about cake tasting? 🍰

3. Or is it finding a venue? 💒
Whether you are planning your entire wedding at one venue or multiple venues for each part of the day, this is a great opportunity to check out some amazing and beautiful places to get married. 🌸

What is the most stressful part of planning a wedding......? 💒

Is it deciding the budget? 💰
I know so many people that have racked up huge amounts of debt to pay for their dream wedding. Deciding a Budget is important but sticking to it is crucial.

Is it choosing the guest list?🗒
Deciding who to invite is tricky especially when taking into account the budget but, it's even harder if there are family dramas.

Is it finalising the seating plan? 🪑
As touched on above, if there are family members not on speaking terms, it can be especially difficult to ensure everyone is kept happy.

With December in full swing, here are 3 reasons why you should pick a December date for your wedding....

1. December is off season ❄️ - this means there is potentially plenty of availability at your favourite venue and you're more likely to get a good deal. Bonus!

2. Most venues will already be decorated for the Christmas season🎄 - this means you may be able to save money on decorations and spend it elsewhere. A luxury menu, greater dress shopping budget or a once in a lifetime honey moon trip.

3. You don't have to deal with the heat of summer ☀️ - meaning you don't have to deal with melting make up, wilting flowers, heat exhaustion, sweat patches etc.

I agree that winter can bring its own struggles too, but imagine a cosy Christmas wedding, twinkling lights, snowy pictures and guests dressed in sequins. ✨️ I know which season I'd choose, which one would you?

Choosing table décor that goes with your theme can be time consuming and stressful. There's just so much choice out there and it can become overwhelming.

Here's 2 things you should consider when choosing table place names to ensure they are not only beautiful but also functionable.

1) Matchy Matchy - do they match your theme or colour scheme. If not, they could look out of place.

2) Easy to Read - not only do they need a font that is easy to read, they need to be easy to see amongst the other table décor to avoid any delays in guests being seated.
