Foundations of Hands Free Massage
November 2nd and 3rd. Cost £165
Hands Free Massage uses the forearm and elbow for applying firm pressure in massage (working with and without oil) and for stretches and mobilising techniques. The Original Hands Free Massage training (8 days) focuses on a range of techniques which can easily be blended into your familiar massage routines (with practice). You’ll learn to be more effective in applying pressure with less effort, and therefore maintain your career as a massage practitioner. You can ‘give your hands a holiday’ and save your thumbs and wrists, the areas that massage practitioners most often strain.
In the two-day Foundation course, you’ll learn to use the ‘soft forearm’ to work on the back surface of the trunk, arms and legs.
It also covers the crucial principles of Hands Free Massage:
working with skill and precision (so as to avoid ‘mashing’ the client or leaving them bruised - a way of working that turns clients off receiving forearm or elbow work)
working sensitively - learning to sense with your HF tools so that you can monitor and adapt to the client’s responses
using your body effectively with the least effort to support your forearm and elbow
saving your shoulders (a common problem for people starting to work hands free)
blending Hands Free techniques smoothly into massage treatments.
