Bank Holiday weekend incoming… what are your plans looking like? ☀️

Big garden BBQ? A wedding? Escaping somewhere with a sea breeze and zero emails? Whatever you’ve got on, I hope it’s a good one and you actually get a moment to switch off properly!

And if you are heading to a wedding this weekend (or you’re in the middle of planning one), here are a few tried-and-tested tips for surviving the warmer weather without melting into the dance floor:

🪭Handheld fans are genuinely lifesavers.
🥂Hydrate like it’s your full-time job (yes, even if your glass is mysteriously refilling itself).
👗Think linen, cotton, floaty everything - this is not the season for “structured anything”.
👠 Spare shoes are essential - sweaty feet and heels is a combination no one enjoys.
📸 And photographers? We’ll be the ones quietly relocating to the shade between shots like it’s a tactical operation.

Enjoy the long weekend, and make the most of the sunshine while it lasts!

Planning a wedding?

You’ve probably already realised how quickly it all starts to feel like a whirlwind - timelines, suppliers, decisions… and somewhere in the middle of it all, the moments that actually matter.

That’s where I come in.

My approach is simple: capture your day as it really happens. The in-between glances, the slightly chaotic energy, the proper belly laughs - not just the posed bits (although we’ll get those too 😉).

When you know, you know…

Planning a wedding in 6 months or less might feel intense, but it can also be incredibly exciting when you lean into it.

A few things I always tell couples:
– Book your venue first
– Lock in key suppliers early (especially your photographer 👀)
– Keep things simple and creative - DIY, digital invites, playlists… it all works
– Consider eloping if you want something more personal and low-stress
– Smaller weddings can be just as special (sometimes more so)

At the end of the day, you only really need: someone to marry, a couple of rings, someone to make it official, and someone to capture it all. Everything else is a bonus.

Voewood really is one of those venues that just hits differently!

Millie & Nick’s day was exactly what Voewood does best… laid-back, joy-filled, and centred around one big celebration.

From a morning spent drifting between rooms capturing both bridal and groom prep, to an outdoor ceremony (with a little help from a canopy thanks to some classic British weather 🌦️), the whole day flowed so naturally.
