Packed full of foliage and already adorning a front door (well, it will be once the storm has passed) - I've loved sending wreaths out this week, and this one was my favourite yet. I love all the green tones, the simplicity and the teasels. A true celebration of fabulous foliage. All grown here on the flower farm, on an English willow base.

Do you love the green as much as I do?

Wreath season is in full swing here at Brunstead Blooms - last night saw the first of the workshops, and what a wonderful way to start! Fantastic wreaths left the workshop, it was lovely to see.

I'll be Christmas Farmer's Market today, 10am-2pm (Church Farm Smallburgh), with wreaths, table decoration ideas and festive bunches. Come and say hello! You'll also be able to order wreaths from me for collection or delivery later in December.

Ps how pretty are these English willow bases from ?! Love them!

I know I said it last week, but that really is it for fresh flowers from the farm now - we've some hard frosts (for us, near the coast) and everything is now in full winter mode.

But that's ok! Foliage is the name of the game here for the winter and festive period. And I've been cutting for drying all summer - so there's plenty of dried stock. My favourite flowers for drying are statice (pic 1) and strawflowers (pic 2). They hold their colour beautifully and give fabulous pops of colour in the dark of winter - no sprays, no chemicals, just naturally grown and dried. Both will be available to dress wreaths with at our workshops.

Which do you like, strawflowers or statice? Or do you just prefer fresh? I'd love to hear!

All of the foliage used is grown here on the flower farm - really low miles (in fact, there no miles, only a few metres really), on an English willow base from with a sumptuous ribbon. You can keep the base for next year, or put the whole thing (except the ribbon) to compost. Very green, much more sustainable.

Don't forget - keep your wreath spritzed with a but of water a few times a week (or leave it out on the grass if it's not going to freeze). It'll keep fresh and look lovely up to Christmas.

The cold weather looks like it's finally arriving this coming week, so I expect these will be the last fresh bunches of 2024 from me. Bouquets can say so many things - these were to say thank you.

Packed full of chrysanthemum, strawflowers, the last of the dahlias and nerines, along with lovely foliage - eucalyptus, sweet box and scented pelargonium. All grown here on the farm - totally seasonal and much more sustainable. Swipe ➡️ for a closer look.

Which do you prefer - pinks or autumnal oranges?!

Fancy coming along to make your own Christmas wreath? There are still places on Brunstead Blooms' workshops:

Friday 29 November 6.30pm-8.30pm
Sunday 1 December 2.30pm-4.30pm
Wednesday 4 December 6.30pm-8.30pm
Friday 6 December 6.30pm-8.30pm
Saturday 7 December 2.30pm-4.30pm
Sunday 8 December 11am-1pm & 2.30pm-4.30pm

Here's a few things about what makes our workshops so special:

- each wreath is made entirely from seasonal foliage and is 100% compostable (save for the ribbon, but that's a keeper!);
- all the foliage is harvested from the farm here - most of it from within 100m of the studio. It's all grown slowly, cut so that the foliage will regenerate easily and without causing damage to the habitat;
- the bases are made from English grown willow and woven by - really gorgeous, very sustainable;
- all extras, whether it be berries, dried flowers or pinecones, are grown on the flower farm too.

So, if you're looking for a more sustainable option this festive season, look no further! Plus, I make a fairly decent mince pie (and chocolate brownies for the non-pie fans!).

£49.50pp - including all materials, festive treats and you'll take home an amazing wreath at the end.

I loved creating these meadow boxes with the great help of Sarah for the Wedding Showcase nearly two weeks ago. Packed full of seasonal foliage all grown by myself or Sarah here in Norfolk. Swipe through to take a closer look at some of the detail. No floral foam and all using sustainable mechanics.

Perfectly framed by olive trees from and gorgeous draping by .events.norfolk

Old fashioned? Not here! Chrysanthemum are one of my ultimates - well worth the wait and full of colour well into autumn. The 2024 crop has been absolutely smashing, and I've got more varieties waiting in the wings for 2025. Swipe through to see some of my faves from this year.

What do you think? Love or loathe?!

I think they definitely deserve a place on the grid - I wouldn't be without them.

It's been a week since the showcase at the incredible Woodyard at the Worstead Estate. The brief for the set-up was just divine - who doesn't love a lush, green, enchanted woodland vibe?!

As well as meeting wonderful couples over the course of the weekend, I worked the day before dressing the venue with a great helping hand from Sarah English Peonies - these big arrangements inside gold pedestals from Array Wedding and Event Hire were just my favourites. Swipe ➡️ for a closer view. Imagine getting married with this as your backdrop!

These arrangements were packed full of foliage, every single stem of which was grown in Norfolk either by myself or Sarah. The draping behind from Epic Event Hire provided the perfect backdrop.

Stunning.

That wasn't all we got up to though, watch this space for more...

Happy Saturday! I am so excited to be part of Showcase at the Woodyard all weekend. So, I thought I'd quickly show my face in case you're popping along to say hello.

I'm Louisa - I do all of the growing and floristry here at Blooms HQ. Yesterday, with a superb extra pair of hands from Sarah , I added to the decor at The Woodyard with fabulous seasonal stuff - I can't wait to show you how amazing it looks!

By the way, the pics were part of a photo shoot from earlier in the year - more on that another day!

Happy Halloween! That's come around awfully quickly again...tell me it's not just me that thinks so?!

Seasonality is the name of the game here - although colour plays a part, at Blooms HQ we like to ensure that there are a range of colours for every season. Seasonality is about the flowers and foliage themselves, not always about the colour.

This was snapped up Farmer's Market at the weekend - seasonal, sustainably arranged and all grown here on the farm (except for the pumpkin which is grown on the fabulous ). Something a little bit different.

Really excited for this!
