During an unusually open discussion in between World Cup matches being shown at a Nottingham bar back in 2018, it became obvious to my business and venue partners Ian and Trish that most men in our group had, at some point, had issues with their mental health. The seeds were sown to make an application to the National Lottery Reaching Communities Fund to provide support through Arts and wellbeing sessions.

Happily, eventually, they have now been successful in securing the funding to deliver these sessions and the Man Up, Man Down project is here !!

The first sessions that we will be introducing are a poetry/spoken word workshop and a music production workshop. They will be delivered in the community space (the building where The Old Bus Depot is) and the HOAM recording studio in the same building.

All the workshops are free of charge on Tuesdays from 7.30-9.30 starting from 20th Feb.

Please Dm or get in touch with Ian Gardiner if you or anyone you know would like to take part.

WIRE & WOOL/ The Summer Sit Down Session #1

Thursday 3rd August

INFL's acoustic showcase night comes to The Old Bus Depot to highlight the overwhelming talent there is on hand in our fine city.

We'll have tables and candle-light and want to give both the artists and

Expect melodies to make an angel weep.

it's Notts where they're from, it's where they're going...

CHLOE RODGERS
10.30 pm

If Chloe Rodgers is not your idea of a pop star, then she should be. Born and raised in Nottingham – a part of the United Kingdom that she still enjoys living in – Chloe is lucky enough to have the kind of disposition that makes you swoon at the impossibility of her existence within the confines of what it is to be a modern day pop star. Indeed, so genuinely unaffected is she, you’d be forgiven for thinking she’d been conjured up by that very same team of marketing executives to confound your natural cynicism.

So delicately nuanced as to be reminiscent of artists like Bjork or Liz Fraser – though only in the way those artists seem to treat their voice as an instrument in itself!

BARA
9.00 pm

We were first introduced to the sublime Bara at one of Parisa Eliyon's beautiful Acoustickle night's at The Old Bus Depot and we were blown away. Spellbindly sublime, we'd urge you to come and check our Bara while you have the chance!

THE FIGHTING NIGHTINGALES
8.15 pm

Join The Fighting Nightingales for a world of comically tall tales set to strange music. Stories of mythic American woodland beasts, indestructible bluesmen, indestructible moonshine runners, a homicidal 17th Century dwarf, misunderstood monsters, sentient trains and Carlton cannibals, scored to sound of flamenco guitar!

8.00 pm start

Entry £5 (Via or on the door)
