I am extremely saddened by the news of AJ Crimson’s passing. As a Photographer, I was blessed with the opportunity to photograph The Makeup Show Orlando in November 2014. I personally wasn’t into make-up back then, but nothing goes with photography more than makeup and fashion. I circled the event floor many times and always found myself at AJ’s stall, snapping away, catching him smile and demonstrate the beauty of AJ Crimson SKIN and his palettes for his customers. Right before the end of the show, I was snapping away at a distance again when AJ saw me and told me to come over and get a group photo. He huddled up with his team, grabbed a product and smiled for me and my camera. I have been following his journey ever since and now I’m devastated. DEVASTATED! He inspired and uplifted soooo much women and women of colour in particular with his passion and creative talent.
I took these photos out of my archive because I haven’t really posted them in all these years, but I feel blessed to have been able to capture his grace and interact with him even just briefly.
May God rest his soul. Amen!
