It's nearly here!!!
4 weeks to go to our biggest fundraiser Hucknall Beer Festival, its going to be another amazing weekend we're so excited, are you joining us? 💜

IT'S NEARLY HERE......
The John Godber Centre with support from Nottingham CAMRA present Hucknall Beer Festival 2025, a charity fundraiser with over 90 real ales and ciders from local and county brewers and cider makers.

We're really excited for our annual festival to be returning for another amazing weekend of great ales, cider and socialising.

The festival will run
🍏Thursday 13th February 6pm to 10pm (preview evening)
🍻Friday 14th February 11am to 11pm
🍏Saturday 15th February 12pm to 11pm
🍻Sunday 16th February 12pm to 3pm

Hot and Cold food will be available throughout the weekend with live music from Blurred Mondays on Saturday evening.

The Centre's fully licenced bar will also be open for those wanting something fizzier, on the softer side or a cuppa and don't want to miss out on the atmosphere of the event.

We're home to a number of wonderful crafting groups throughout the month for those looking to enjoy their creativity and meet like minded people.
Mondays - 1.30pm Byron Stitchers
Weekly knitting, sewing, crochet and craft group. Bring your hobby and enjoy a cuppa with fellow crafters.

A fantastic evening for our Countdown to 2025 New Years Eve, thank you to everyone that came along and helped us celebrate.

We had a fabulous night and was incredible to see the dance floor so full and our biggest conga line to date! Was so much fun with family and friends and is always brilliant to welcome new faces to the event as well as seeing returning ones.

Huge thanks to Balloons by Fancy Pants and Festers Disco and to all the Centre and bar team involved from preparations to clear up and all the in-between bits.

Happy New Year to all our staff, user groups, visitors and volunteers we'll see you in 2025, we're so looking forward to what's coming this year.

Reminder of our opening hours for this week are noted below...
The building is open for Hucknall Slimming World with Sarah this morning 9am to 11am for open weigh and coffee and again this evening 6.30pm -9pm for Lovelace Theatre Group panto rehearsals
On Tuesday 31st December we will be open for our New Years Eve ticket only family event 6pm-10pm (sold out)
We will be closed on the 1st, 3rd and 5th January this week and the building will be open for -
Thursday afternoon Line Dance, Slimming World and Lovelace Theatre Group (normal times)
Saturday 4th Slimming World with Nicola (normal sessions) and a private event

The Centre office reopens Monday 6th January at 9am and all booking enquiries and messages will be replied to then. We hope you've had a lovely Christmas and we look forward to returning in the new year and planning for 2025 and beyond

Reminder of our opening hours for this week are noted below...
The building is open for Hucknall Slimming World with Sarah this morning for open weigh and coffee 9am to 11am and then again this evening for Lovelace Theatre Group panto rehearsals 7.30pm -10pm.
We will then be closed for Christmas until Friday 27th when we will be open for Nicola Bradbury Slimming World Consultant in Hucknall for open weigh 4.30pm -7pm and normal group sessions on Saturday 28th (7.15am, 8.45am and 10.15am)

The Centre office reopens Monday 6th January at 9am and all booking enquiries will be replied to then. We hope you have a lovely Christmas and we look forward to returning in the new year and planning for 2025 and beyond

Our opening hours for the festive period are noted below...
Some groups have finished for their Christmas break and some are running as normal this coming week and between Christmas and New Year we will be open for Slimming World and Theatre rehearsals with our New Year's Eve Countdown party on the 31st.

We wish all our customers, groups, classes, hirers, team and leadership a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and look forward 2025 💜

It's that time of the year, oh yes it is! Tickets for Lovelace Theatre Group 2025 pantomime are on sale and if you've not got yours yet don't delay!

If you are collecting booked tickets from reception as Christmas Gifts please pick up before noon on Saturday 21st December as the Centre closes with limited opening hours before Christmas. After this date and over the festive period please check our opening hours to avoid unnecessary travel whilst the Centre is closed and remember to bring the correct cash.

Tickets always tend to sell quick, so don't delay!

THANK YOU TO OUR TEAM!
Before we share updates, photos and videos from our festivities last week we just wanted to take a moment to give a HUGE thank you to our team for all they did to make things happen.

These 8 wonderful individuals from our duty and support teams worked so hard to host so many memorable events in one week. They undertook additional planning and preparation behind the scenes organising decorations, extra equipment, drinks and food, games, ticket sales and prizes for us to welcome over 1000 extra people through our doors. This is alongside their usual day to day operations which have seen a huge increase this year with more groups and activities on the timetable.

They even managed to squeeze in an entry to the tree festival in addition to hosting a dinner for 144 U3A members, a wonderful Christmas Market for the light switch on night, a family festive Elf party and Glamour Girls Christmas Party show night.

We’re so grateful for all that Jenny, Becky, Donny, Jacqui, Claire, Peter, Matthew and Matt do every day but last week they helped to host some truly special events on top of welcoming a full diary of regular activities and I think they deserve a big thank you for going that extra mile for the extra events we planned all in one week.

On the day you may not get to see everyone whose been involved in an event, some may have been there in the day setting furniture and decorating, some may have been polishing cutlery and finding cups ready for a big service, some may be here the next morning clearing up but everyone pulls together to create something special and we’re so grateful to every single member of team purple.

We had a wonderful time welcoming so many people to the various events last week and these amazing colleagues helped make it all happen and deserve a special thank you 💜
