NEW EVENT - HUCKNALL COMMUNITY CRAFT FAIR
We're very excited for our second community craft fair taking place on the 4th August. Our new events will be monthly on the 1st Sunday of the month and we're looking forward to welcoming some wonderful crafters and creators to show you their wonderful items.
The events will take place 11am to 2pm and as well as autumn events which will be on the 1st September and 6th October.
Put the dates in your diary now and join us for a lovely crafternoon for all, there will be cake and refreshments, a little children's creatives area and a place to sit and catchup with others.
The events are to fundraise for the John Godber Centre which is a registered charity but also be the opportunity to provide a place to meet and catchup, shop and sip.
We hope to see you there!

We're very excited to be welcoming Academy Transformation Trust Further Education College to our timetable here at the John Godber Centre.
Over the summer they will be running these two courses with further classes coming in the Autumn -
*Summer Gardening Course 13th-27th August, Thursdays 10am to 2pm
*English for Speakers of Other Language's 2nd-30th August, Fridays' 9.30am-3.30pm

The college provides lifelong learning opportunities to local and wider communities, offering further and adult education opportunities in a range of non-vocational provisions, along with accredited learning programs from Entry Level to Level 5.
The college is dedicated to nurturing potential, developing learning skills, and providing the tools to achieve ambitions.

Our Rainbow Disco is back for 2024, Make sure to book you tickets! 🌈

We all worry about things that are beyond our control and how others will respond to us, to our loved ones.
If we can be a bit more kinder, if we can have a little more understanding for others, we'll be making the world a little better for someone else.
In someone's dark moments let's be the shine, let's show them support and kindness, let's show the world everyone should be proud of who they are and feel safe about it.

We're proud to be hosting our rainbow disco party on Sunday 28th July.
We're humbled by the stories of individuals, parents, and loved ones and are looking forward to our festival of colour this July on Nottingham Pride weekend.

❤️Our disco party is the bringing together of everyone to celebrate the love and pride in our town and community.
🧡Tickets are £2 and can be purchased by contacting the centre.
💛Our licenced bar is open for drinks and snacks but do feel free to bring your own food if you wish.
💚Feel free to wear something bright or with rainbows or dress as you want to.
💙There will be games, crafts, quizzes and fun as well as music to enjoy.
💜This event is for all ages including children.

CHARITY FITNESS CLASSES
Helen has joined our timetable Wednesdays from 12noon for her new weekly fitness classes with 20% of proceeds from the classes going to MIND charity, a charity close to Helens heart promoting dancing for mental and physical health.

Today the upstairs Portland Hall will be a polling station for the general election.
All regular sessions will take place as normal however the following changes have taken place with kindness of the groups :
💜Line Dancing will be earlier in the downstairs Byron Suite
💜Kickboxing will not be going ahead today
All other groups and activities will be going ahead in their usual rooms and entrances

Those voting please use the rear carpark entrance (ramp at side of the building)
All other activities should use the ground floor entrance on Ogle Street

Good luck to the local candidates, we remain neutral but wish those who know, use and support the building well in today's local elections.

🗳 THURSDAY • 4th • JULY 🗳
This Thursday the Portland Hall will be a polling station for the general election.
All regular sessions will take place as normal however there will be some room changes in place with kindness of the groups :
💜Line Dancing will take place at an earlier time on the ground floor
💜Kickboxing will be cancelled for this Thursday
💜All other groups will be taking place as normal in usual rooms

Those voting please use the rear car park entrance and follow signage to the Polling Station. The stairs may be used to access the first floor but we recommend the car park entrance. Please note dogs except for guide dogs are sadly not permitted in the venue.

💚Mini First Aid Nottingham are back in Hucknall at John Godber Centre on the 6th July for their award winning baby and child First Aid class💚
A 2 hour informal and relaxed session (babies are welcome) for this CPD accredited course.

Baby & Child First Aid classes are for parents, grandparents and carers and are delivered in a relaxed and comfortable style to give you confidence to know what actions to take if faced with a medical emergency.

Tiny Tots Preschool, Hucknall are open 9am to 3pm Monday to Friday.
The team can be contacted on 07963 962517.
The Preschool is run by a team of lovely ladies with a purpose designed playroom and outdoor area for the children to enjoy.

Learn to dance!
Physical wellbeing for all ages is important and we're proud to be home to so many dance sessions here at the John Godber Centre.

Learning to dance allows us to learn a new skill, make friends and keep our heartrates up as we learn to grace around the floor.

Some of the wonderful dance classes on offer here in Hucknall to consider trying:

FINAL REMINDER - WE'LL BE DONATING LOST PROPERTY NEXT FRIDAY
It's that time of the year again! We've been having a tidy up of the lost and found box.
There's lots of items that have been with us for many months including jewelry, hats, drinks bottles, baby shoes, glasses, even the odd umbrella! Not everything is from within the Centre, some items have been found outside the building.
If you think something of yours may have ended up there please ask us, even if you've already asked before we'd love to reunite them.
Sadly we don't have space to keep them indefinitely and will donate to charity at the end of June the items we currently have.

We're proud to be home to so many groups and activities here at the John Godber Centre and if you're looking for friendly support to help with your slimming journey and how you feel about yourself we have a number of weekly classes and groups as well as a range of fitness classes to help.

Slimming World in Hucknall holds 8 groups a week here with 2 wonderful consultants and offer friendly supportive groups.
Wednesday mornings 9am and 10.30am with Hucknall Slimming World with Sarah
Thursday evenings 4pm, 5.30pm and new for 2024 7pm with Nicola Bradbury Slimming World Consultant in Hucknall
Saturday mornings 8.45am and 10.15am with Nicola PLUS NEW 7am class

We also have Your Time every Friday 9.45am, a weekly mental wellbeing support group with the lovely Theresa.

ABL Health have joined our timetable on Mondays at 5.30pm offering support from friendly and positive advisors, with encouragement, advice and maintaining a positive approach to managing your weight and health behaviours. Also Wednesday mornings a fitness and nutrition class at 9am

Everyone is different and unique and has their own needs so we're pleased to offer a number of choices for your support journey with some amazing and friendly people to help. We also have a range of fitness classes to support you as well.
