We had a festive morning today at Moulton Library - Health and Wellbeing Hub in Northants. The children helped our mascot Lionel the Lion to sort out the mixed up presents for his animal friends. They then had chance to meet and handle them all. We still have a few dates available before Christmas if you would like to book our interactive Christmas story session for you nursery, class, club or library. Contact us to find out more.

We had a lovely day today visiting all the children at Melbourne Infant School in Derbyshire. Leopard Gecko Cleo and some of her animal friends were there to help bring their topic and science learning to life. We can fit in with almost any topic or theme. We had a lovely morning today at The Hall Preschool in Glenfield, Leicester. The children have been learning about animals around the world. They were calm and gentle with all our animals whose wild cousins come from around the globe. Did you know that Bearded Dragon like the lovely Summer come from Australia?

This afternoon we helped a 5 year old and his friends and family celebrate his birthday. The family were keen to meet a spider so Chilean Rose Tarantula Tia was there with some of her animal friends. Tia is a gentle old lady who is happy to sit in your hands or on your lap. If you would like to invite her to your party contact us to find out more. 🕷️😍

Yesterday was cleanout day for our African Land Snails, between a morning vet visit and an afternoon care home visit. It is one of my least favourite jobs but I'm so pleased I did it yesterday in the sunshine rather than today in the pouring rain!

This afternoon rabbits Rusty & Cookie and some of their creature friends were back at Derby Heights Care Home - Avery Healthcare for some pet therapy. This morning we back at Pre School & Out of School Club in Leicester. Baby Tenrec Mango & some of our other super friendly creatures were there for the children to hold and stroke. We have two Lesser Hedgehog Tenrecs at Lion Learners East Midlands, 6 year old boy Thistle and Mango who is 5 months old. They may look like baby hedgehogs but they aren't actually in the hedgehog family. 🦔

Rayo Red Foot Tortoise is fed up! She wants to go outside but it's too cold today. As Red Foots come from Brazil they don't hibernate like European tortoises. Rayo needs plenty of attention and things to do through the coldest months. As you can see she loves fuss! She is looking forward to getting out and about tomorrow with some of her animal friends.
