Raw Talent Midlands Raw Talent aims to discover & empower creatives who have an interest in developing & exploring various aspects of the entertainment industry in the midlands.

This will be achieved by hosting different events including live music, workshops & conferences. Raw Talent is an organisation from Nottingham with the primary objective of helping young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to develop skills & experiences that will enable them to make a living. Raw Talent has a special interest in the music & entertainment industry as that is where many of their

experiences & successes have come from. Although not a funded organisation, Raw Talent has been supporting various community organisations & schools, plus supplying the Nottingham City Council (supplier reference: 280562), the Nottinghamshire County Council (supplier reference: TR503419), & several of the other regional councils (such as Broxtowe Borough Council, Gedling Borough Council, Rushcliffe Borough Council, Derby City Council, Leicester City Council etc) with music workshops, event management, performers and more. Since conception Raw Talent has operated as outreach music practitioners working city & regionally wide, bringing many communities together. Raw Talent have great experience with working with hard to reach & challenged individuals, delivering projects & music sessions to alternative provision units & youth offending complexes. Raw Talent have developed great contacts regionally & nationwide, establishing a great database to sign-post people to. Raw Talent is committed to helping bring a positive difference to peoples’ lives, as the enrichment activities & workshops that they supply has certainly benefited people from all backgrounds, helping them to learn alternate skills in addition to what is taught in mainstream education. Raw Talent are renowned for attracting people from different communities & ethnicities and will bond together like minded people for a beneficial outlook. The Raw Talent story starts in 2000 with 2 performers from the Raw Talent Music collective (Denzie & Lee Wolfe) both achieving UK Top 40 hit singles that year with Monsta Boy & N-Trance.

- 2001 Raw Talent working alongside NSPCC were invited into schools to deliver workshops in DJing, Dancing, Song Lyric Writing, Singing/Rapping, Performing, & Spray Arts.

- 2002 Raw Talent became a constituted organisation in order to continue to deliver workshops in the Nottingham Communities

- 2002 “Stop The Violence”. Raw Talent’s 1st major community project was launched, mainly to stop local postcode rivalries.

- 2003 “Stop The Violence” turns into a UK wide National anti gun & drugs campaign featuring many top UK celebrities (such as Ms Dynamite, Shola Ama, Mis-teeq [to name a few]) working alongside Raw Talent.

- 2003 “Stop The Violence” song reaches number 52 in the UK Urban Charts

- 2003 MTV & Blues n Soul magazine work with Raw Talent to create a 10 city tour to promote the “Stop The Violence” campaign, enabling Raw Talent to give 15 young people from Nottingham the experience of working alongside Top Celebrities on tour, & learn about the music/entertainment industry

- 2004 Raw Talent compilation CDs “Diamonds in the Ruff” & “Uncut n Raw” are signed to Jet Star records, giving 22 local performers a record deal.

- 2004 Raw Talent obtain work in overseas summer holiday resorts for their young entertainers in places such as Cyprus (Aiya Napa), Rhodes (Faliraki), Crete (Malia) etc.

- 2005 Raw Talent adds new workshops to their repertoire, such as: Beauty Therapy, Drama, & Video Making.

- 2005 Raw Talent alongside Marceline Powell, & A.C.E. (African Caribbean Enterprise) start writing plans & apply for a community radio station, the beginning of Kemet FM.

- 2006 Raw Talent develops another major community project titled “Urban Growth”. The projects objectives were to take Urban Music into the Theatres, thus broadening young peoples’ music focus and exposing them to more work opportunities.

- 2007 “Urban Growth” proves to be successful in Nottingham, Derby, & Leicester, opening opportunities for Raw Talent to do work in Derby & Leicester.

- 2007 “Kemet FM” is launched, led by Marceline Powell, giving Raw Talent members an opportunity to work on radio.

- 2008 Raw Talent develop Event Planning & Event organisation training programs.

- 2009 Raw Talent start a safe sex project with C.A.S.H. (Contraception And Sexual Health).

- 2010 Raw Talent performer (Ms Scarlet) hits number 1 for 3 weeks on the txt Download Charts with her safe sex song.

- 2010 Raw Talent run another anti violence project with Nottingham University Samworth Academy called “My Hood is your Hood” to re-establish & promote peace between Nottingham inner-city areas.

- 2011 Raw Talent become Artist Booking Managers of the Main-stage at the Vibe Festival.

- 2012 Raw Talent help to develop an event management team called “Starlite Ent” to create more job opportunities for non performers in the promoting of a yearly event called “The Starlite Weekender”.

- 2013 Raw Talent performer (Sterling) shows the best of Nottingham Talent & wins many praises with his band Rough Copy on X-Factor.

- 2014 Raw Talent working alongside Embrace in the Community attempt to create an ‘Open Mic’ World Record with an event titled “Lyrics of Life”. The event opens the doors for European exchange partnerships in Germany & Spain.

- 2014 Raw Talent took several families on a History Expedition to Germany, visiting the Dachau Concentration Camp, discovering the truth about the ‘Gas Chambers’.

- 2015 Raw Talent deliver a pilot music training program called “3M’s” (Music Mastering Marketing), helping young music makers from inner-city communities learn steps that could move them forward with their music careers independently.

- 2015 Raw Talent organised another History Expedition, bringing many families to Spain to learn about ‘Moorish’ influences in Spain, & the Ships of Tarshish involvement in the ‘Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade’.

- 2016 Raw Talent took several families on a community cohesion ‘glamping’ experience in the Netherlands. The minimalistic rural living conditions were to encourage young families to learn to work together & live without modern technology for a few days.

- 2016 Raw Talent’s manager Wins the Nottinghamshire Community Foundation “Dragon’s Den” Competition to launch CASFP as an initiative to reduce anti-social behaviour amongst mature teens.

- 2017 Raw Talent merge with The Pythian Club, adding to Pythian Club’s repertoire of Football, Boxing, & Music workshops

- 2018 Raw Talent creates Good News Music, a charitable organisation, to deliver Positive Hip Hop music, events, & conventions.

- 2019 the 1st Positive Hip Hop music album is released, with a sell out launch event/concert in Nottingham at Metronome.

- 2020 "Good News Music" becomes a constituted organisation, with Raw Talent as delivery facilitators.

- 2021 Raw Talent assists Good News Music to become a registered charity with the UK Charities Commission. The above are just highlights of Raw Talent’s activities since the year 2000. Their work ethos, determination, & business savvy have enabled them to maintain & remain an essential youth development organisation in the Midlands.
