Nottinghamshire Registration Service covers the whole of Nottinghamshire, from Sutton Bonington in the South to Misterton in the North, (excluding the City of Nottingham). Within Nottinghamshire we have a number of offices where births and deaths may be registered and notices of marriage and civil partnership may be given. These are; Arnold, Beeston, West Bridgford, Mansfield, Sutton-in-Ashfield,

Eastwood,, Newark, Retford and Worksop. All offices operate an appointment system; to make an appointment please call 0300 500 80 80. ❤ Arnot Hill House ❤ is our Grade II listed Registration Office in the market town of Arnold.

Licensed for civil marriage and partnership, Arnot Hill House can accommodate up to 80 guests.

The characterful ceremony room is decorated in neutral and classic colours and it benefits from a lovely period fireplace and glistening chandelier. The ceremony room offers panoramic views of the fountain and lake.

Arnot Hill Park holds the Green Flag Award and there is a wealth of photographic opportunities around the building and within the park grounds.

Arnot Hill House has onsite parking and, with its proximity to the city centre, good public transport links are also available.

Before you can legally say 'I Do', couples must give notice of their intention to marry or form a civil partnership...

🩷 Your notice must be given at a Registration Office in the district where you live. Visit www.gov.uk/register-offices and enter your postcode to find offices in your district.

🧡 If either of you is subject to immigration control, you must both give notice at the same appointment. If you live in two different districts, you may choose to give notice in either one of the districts where each of you live.

💛 Make an appointment to give notice of your intention to marry or form a civil partnership at the relevant office.

💚 You must give notice a minimum of 28 days prior to your marriage / civil partnership. If either of you is subject to immigration control, please be aware that it may take up to 70 days for the Home Office to consider your referral.

💙 You must both give notice - the cost of giving notice is £42 per person – additional fees may apply for the consideration of certain documents and / or dependent on immigration status.

🩵 You will be advised as to the documentation required to give notice and any additional fees payable when you make an appointment.

💜 Once both notices have been given, they are publicly displayed for 28 days, calling for any legal objections to be raised.

🩷 After 28 days, legal paperwork is issued which Celebrant Registrars use to marry / civil partner you on the day. If either of you is subject to immigration control, paperwork will not be issued until Home Office approval is received.

🧡 The legal paperwork issued is valid for one year from the day you give notice – if you do not marry / form a civil partnership within that year, the paperwork will expire, and you will be required to give notice again.

❤🎊 Let’s start the New Year right…with Sandeep & Glenieliz! 🎊❤

The couple got engaged on the 27th of June this year in Glenieliz’s childhood room. Glenieliz says, “Our relationship is based 99% on sheer fun and how well our inner children get along. I honestly couldn't think of a better place to step into the best years of my life than from right where all the love started.”

They have chosen to marry in Nottinghamshire at Arnot Hill House, Arnold Registration Office, on the 31st of December 2024 because, “we thought it'd be best (and maybe a bit funny) to make our wedding stand out by having it on a day literally everyone would remember. But since Christmas day was a hard NO (thanks, moms 🙄), NYE it is! Thankfully, selecting the venue was much simpler since Arnot Hill has been a longstanding tradition for me, the dogs, and our weekend walkies. Well, that and the fact that it's such a gorgeous venue.”

Their advice for planning a wedding? “Honestly, just let it happen. It's good to have a vision, but stressing head-over-heels leading up to what's meant to be a celebration of you and the person you love is a bit silly. So, make that to-do list, fold it up neatly, stow it away in that book you were meant to read but never did, and have a glass of wine instead!”

❤️🎄 Have yourself a merry little Christmas…Carol & Leslie! 🎄❤️

The couple got engaged on the 2nd of November this year after a whirlwind romance.

Carol first saw Leslie from a distance at the Tow Bar club in June, but they didn’t get to meet. Then in early September, Leslie was at the same venue and some of Carol’s friends and staff at the bar, set them up!

Carol & Leslie began chatting and that was it, they were both smitten. They never stopped laughing and enjoying each other’s company. Three days later they moved in together, and the rest, as they say, is history.

They have chosen to marry in Nottinghamshire at Arnot Hill House, Arnold Registration Office, on the 23rd of December 2024, because they wanted a Christmas wedding during the school holidays, so their grandchildren can attend.

Carol says, “When you know you know. Yes I do believe in love at first sight. In 50 days I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with Leslie.”

❤🎄 Rockin’ around the Christmas tree…with Claire & Jonny! 🎄❤

The couple first met at work. Claire plucked up the courage to ask Jonny out on a date for his 40th birthday and it just snowballed from there.

They had their first date in May last year, made an offer on a house in the October, moved in together in January and got engaged in August.

They have chosen to marry in Nottinghamshire, close to Christmas at Rufford Mill Wedding & Event Venue.

Claire says, “It's been a whirlwind, but we wouldn't change any of it for the world. Neither of us have been married before and we've both agreed that there's a reason for that. We're really excited for the wedding and can't wait to be Mr & Mrs. We didn't purposely pick a Christmas wedding it all just seemed to fall into place and somehow happened. Our first kiss as husband and wife will be under the mistletoe and we will have the DJ play some classic 80's Christmas songs.”
